MILLER

Moral Obligation is meant to depict the way Edward Elric felt he had to help the people of Liore get to safety. The card itself is meant to show that Ed feels he is responsible as a hero for the well being of the people.

The card itself, game-play wise, is a slightly more expensive Countercharge that has a few more limitations, but a strong upside as well. First, the downsides, the character playing it has to be a Zealot, a new keyword from Seven Deadly Sins, and they also have to be an ally. That alone should mean that is should never be played over Countercharge, as most of the time you would prefer that you leader do the blocking, since, in most cases, your leader will be of larger stats than any ally you control. The upside to the card is getting +1 to each attribute while blocking. That upside however does not outweigh the downside.

In sealed, this card is excellent. In constructed, not so good though.

Sealed 4.5/5: Blocking and attribute bonus...sign me up.
Constructed 2/5: Better options available.

Moral Obligation

Event
6 Strength Cost

Moral Obligation can only be played by a zealot ally.

React Strength 6: This character blocks this attack and gets +1 to each attribute.

We really haven't seen a lot of zealots yet, but this card looks like promising support. I think blocking is one of the most underrated mechanics in the game. Unfortunately, it is a bit expensive, so chump blocking is out. I can't rate a card based on other cards we haven't seen yet though.

Today we look at the next spoiler from Seven Deadly Sins, Moral Obligation. Unfortunately there aren’t many good things about this card. First it can only be played by a Zealot ally, so leaders can’t use the card. Second the 6 strength can be hard to come by if Rose is any indication that Zealots will be Rebel and Elric. Third, the only reason to play this over Block or Countercharge is that it gives a +1 boost to each stat and since Ready for Battle never sees play that much we can assume that people need something more than +1.

If there are some pros of this card I suppose you can pack your deck with blocks, countercharges and this card for some major blocking. Can’t really say how well it will do in sealed without knowing the rest of the cards yet, so maybe it’ll prove its usefulness there.

Pros:
-Another block event

Cons:
-High cost
-Can only be played by allies
-+1 pump is very miniscule

Constructed:1/5-Stick with Block and Countercharge if you want block events.
