Pojo's FMA Card of the Day
MILLER |
Exhaustion, as
defined in the dictionary, is the state of being
exhausted. Which is not specific enough, so,
exhausted, as defined by the dictionary, is
drained of energy or effectiveness. That being
said this card does that, it drains the enery or
effectiveness of battle events.
I find this card to be perfectly suited for a
deck that is able to look at an opponent's hand
every turn, and know exactly when the right time
to use this card would be. Specifically because
the opponent could be hoarding battle events and
it would be a grave mistake to use this to
prematurely, it could end up costing you the
game. This card is not to be dismissed however,
because it has uses against nearly any deck,
Elric decks are well known for their Hero's
Passing, Homunculus now have Seven Deadly Sins
with Quick Wits and the like, Military has
always been known for the pumps, and Rebel has
some of the best pumps in the game.
In sealed, this card is excellent as your
opponent tends to have just enough battle pumps
to win some battles, this card cancels that
completely. In constructed, this card can find
its way into many decks that like to be
counteractive, along with Standoff, I am more of
an active player, rather than counteractive, so
I rarely use either of those cards.
Sealed 5/5: It can cause problems to say the
least.
Constructed 5/5: I can see it make ways into
decks, but not mine.

This week we
wrap up with the battle event Exhaustion. This
battle event has the great distinction of being
to be used offensively as well as defensively.
If an opponent has used Intimidation and Stone
Walls on your allies, use Exhaustion to bring
them back to their normal attributes. If an
opponent has used pumps to get their ally’s
attributes up, use Exhaustion to bring them back
down again.
The greatest thing about this card is you can
wait for your opponent to use all their cards
before you react. All of the sudden now they are
losing the battle and they just wasted their
pumps/anti-pumps cards. One downside to the card
is in its cost, but since the card affects a
target character only one character needs the 6
strength to play it and if you put it in your
deck chances are you’ll have enough people that
can play it.
Pros:
-Can be used as defensive and an offensive card
Cons:
-6 strength is not for every deck
-Against a deck that uses no pumps/anti-pumps
this is a dead card
Sealed:3/5-In a format where battle pumps see
the most play this is a solid card, though the
cost is still a little high.
Constructed:3/5-Depending on your meta this
could be great or completely useless.

Exhaustion
A really awesome search-phase changer. If they
pump their 5/5/0 to a 47/5/0 at an Arid Desert,
and they attack you leader, use Exhaustion,
bringing them back to 5 and letting you smack
them around. Or what if they use Stone Wall?
This card can be used by anyone to target
anyone. So you can have your other character
bring your Stone Walled character back to full,
bringing probably another suprise death. Great
card. Now if you get stuck vs. Homunculus or
Elric... this is pretty much a dead card in your
hand. Frown.
Limited: 4/5
Pumps are what Sealed is all about. So this
kills em off. Nice. Not everyone can play it
though.
Constructed: 4/5
Not everyone plays pumps, but this card is
perfect in decks that battle like Rebel or
Military.
Picture: 3/5
I don't like Ed, but its a nice picture.
