Pojo's FMA Card of the Day
Darktaro |
Today we're
looking at Alex Louis Armstrong, Expert Debater.
This is a leader that many people have been
waiting for ever since ALA got a leader set in
Artificial Human. He's 8 command which for some
people is already good enough, but on top of
that he has a great effect in which he uses his
strength to pay the cost for any event. One of
the better things with this is it opens up all
the really expensive wits and alchemy events.
There are tons of them Catch the Train,
Infiltration, Artificial Human, Stone Wall,
Change in Plans, Sensei's Shadow, the list goes
on and on. It took a long time to get him an 8
command, but it was defintely worth the wait.
Constructed: 5/5-An ability that you'd usually
see on a lower command leader. |

Feb. 19 (Alex
Louis Armstrong, Expert Debater)
Ever since Alex Louis Armstrong became a leader
in Artificial Human about a year ago, his level
2 leaders have been really lacking. Up until
Sacrifice, he didn't really stand much of a
chance of competitive play, no matter how crazy
an effect Expert Shadow has.
Expert Debater finally changes that, giving Alex
the much needed 8-command, and with some nifty
abilities to boot.
Obviously, 8-command is essential to military
decks. With amazing allies like Veteran
Alchemists, Warrant Officer, Always on Duty, and
like, it's too much of a detriment not to have
8-command unless it's a Roy Mustang,
Administrator deck. Armstrong's command makes
that happen, and his abilities are a very nice
bonus. Being able to essentially play any event
is very handy, and quick strength is never a bad
thing to tack on. There's not much bad to say
about him except for his low wits and alchemy.
In limited Expert Debater is a great leader
since he lets you play any pump. If you can
somehow swing Armstrong in sealed go for it, but
his real home is in speed draft, where 8-command
level 2s are very, very good. Especially ones
with built in pumps.
