Flashback:
Elrics, like Homunculus, have a strong tradition
in recurring things from the discard pile. This
also means that they both have a lot of
different options for actually recurring cards.
Elrics have, of course, their Timetwister mimic-
Burning the Past. Additionally, they have the
powerful Growing Up, which has the unfortunate
cost of removing cards from your discard pile.
As of Sacrifice, Elrics can have a bit of a
stake in keeping their discard pile intact
thanks to Roy Mustang, Seeking Revenge.
Flashback is a powerful tool that comes out of
nowhere (at least the first couple times you do
it), keeps your discard pile completely intact,
and can make your deck act like it has six
Alchemist Showdowns.
The obvious downside to Flashback is its
experience cost. However, with many Elric decks,
that isn't a problem. Marcoh, Hohenheim, and
Izumi all don't care a drastic amount about
experience, and certain Ed and Al leaders don't
either (although Relentless or The Philosopher's
Stone are always nice.) It really isn't too
difficult a drawback, which still makes it
powerful.
In limited of any form, Flashback becomes a bit
weakened because an Elric character has to play
it. But, if your deck has an Elric leader, a ton
of battle events, and some strong Elric allies,
I guess there isn't a logical reason not to play
it (or something...).

Today we're
looking at Flashback, which is part of the can
only be used by a _______ faction character
event cards that usually come with every set.
This is the Elric faction card and like other
Elric faction cards it works with discard
recursion. For the cost of 1 experience you can
play any event from your discard pile. This is
huge with Elric factions as you can recur
Alchemist Showdown, Frenzy, and Spoils of War.
Of course like all good experience cards it's
best suited for a deck that wants to stay in
level 2. With the potential of being able to
play 6 Alchemist Showdowns in one turn, it can
devastate any deck.
Constructed: 4/5-It's a card that doubles or
triples any of your battle events and in a
format where discard removal is limited,
this is a great addition to Elric decks.
