Today is Gate
locations week! We start with Streetmarket's
real world twin, Strassenmarkt. It is a 2 point
location. Battling on Wits/Alchemy which for
those who aren't familiar with gate locations
means both the attacker and defender gets to
choose which stat to use in battle. In addition
all Elric faction characters get +1 alchemy and
+2 to determine the active player. This is a
great location in Elric decks as their already
high alchemy should be good enough to battle
even Homonculus on their wits. Not to mention
the added bonus of 1 alchemy and the +2 for
active player which may even beat out Homonculus
as well. In other decks you run the risk of
coming up against an Elric deck for it to be
really effective I think.
Constructed: 4/5 In Elric decks (if only it were
3 points instead of 2) ,1/5 everywhere else.
Sealed: 3/5-Locations are hit or miss in sealed,
sometimes you have no choice. Average because if
you pull an Elric leader it's great, but a bit
of a dead location everywhere else. |

Hohenheim Elric
Welcome to cards that feature a quote from
Hohenheim, we venture to our side of Ed and Al's
world. Last week I wasn't here just for personal
time, no worries I should be back a bit.
Gate locations are interesting offering the
chance to defend in one of the two attributes.
For example if I attack in Alchemy you may
defend in Wits or Alchemy. With this locations
boost it offers a good amount to the Elrics, but
to me not enough to use it over an Alchemy
battle location. The Alchemy pump may allow them
to contend against Homonc's Wits, and sense
Elrics run pumps these days they can probably
outrun the Homoncs, who more rely on control to
keep the search party minimal. Also useful to
note is that Alchemist Showdown/Taunt/Test of
Might turn it into a pure stat vs stat battle,
so if you fall behind and go fling out a changer
its nice. This location isn't bad for a bait and
switch type of deal, you get some nice Wits
character's in and then use you're Alchemy
boosts to take out their characters.
Overall- Pretty nice card
Constructed: 2.5/5- Its useful but you should be
able to provide better for yourself
Sealed: 3/5 Great even if you only have one or
two Elrics it can provide an edge. |
