Pojo's FMA Card of the Day
Darktaro |
Unnatural Speed
is today's wits card and it is restricted to
leaders that likes wits event the most,
Homonculus. That said this is one of the very
few mill cards in the game. Luckily it works
well with one of the other few mill cards that
of Gluttony, Homonculus. Unfortunately mill
decks are a bit underpowered in the world of the
FMA TCG as drawing out your deck won't lose you
the game. And against an Elric deck, one Burning
the Past can destroy all the work you've done up
to that point.
For me the ideal situation to mill would be,
your opponent has no recruit next turn in his
hand and you happen to mill 2 or 3 really good
allies into the discard pile. However, since
there is no way to determine what lies on your
opponent's deck you may mill useless cards and
help your opponent get that really good ally.
Add it to the fact that you need to win the
battle to play this cards makes it very meh in
my book.
Constructed: 1/5-Mill decks just aren't that
powerful. If you're playing Homonculus and want
to get certain cards out of an opponent's deck
use Infiltration instead.
Sealed:1/5-You're not guaranteed a Homonculus
leader or even an ally with 6 wits. Put in a
pump instead. |

Hello again and
welcome back to Wits Event Week at Pojo.com.
Let's take a look at day 2's card of the day, an
Uncommon from Alchemists' Gate: Unnatural Speed.
6 Wits - Unnatural Speed
Unnatural Speed can only be played if your
leader is a Homunculus character.
Battle Wits 6: If you win this battle, remove
the top 4 cards of opposing player's deck from
the game.
So there's some life in a Homunculus deck after
all. This card isn't too bad if your playing a
powerhouse deck like say Pride or Dante and
you're pretty confident come the time of
resolution, you're character(s) will win a
battle. You get a nice little chance to mess up
your opponents draw step with cards they
could've gotten, but are now lost for the rest
of the game as there is little to no support for
retrieving cards that have been removed from the
game.
Really if you are running Homunculus in general
and you want to disrupt your opponents
top-decking ability you should run this card. Be
sure that you are packing support because if you
activate this card at the wrong time and you get
full of yourself, chances are you would've just
wasted it. Some React/cancel abilities on your
character might help you tremendously when
making a deck around this card.
To the numbers:
Constructed: 3.5/5. Only Homunculus get a chance
to use it... And you have to win be winning the
battle in the end to get the effect. A wrong
activation and you have just wasted a what
would've been useful effect.
Sealed: 4/5. In sealed environments you are most
likely going back and forth against your
opponent in any case. And removing cards from
your opponents deck in limited is EXTREMELY
hurtful. If you come across this card as your
2nd choice or 3rd choice, pick it up. If you
open the pack first and you come across a more
potent rare, let this card go.
Wraps it here, see you on Friday with the
conclusion of Wits Event Week.
See you soon.
