Dorochet,
Greed's Best Friend:
Welcome to "random quick allies week." This week
we'll be reviewing an ally with a different type
of quick each day. Today we start off with my
favorite chimera- Dorochet. Besides being fused
with a dog (which instantly makes him cooler
than any chimera not fused with a dog), he
wields a katana, blocks, and has Quick Strength:
2.
Huge blockers are really great allies, and
Dorochet is no exception.
Although he may not be the best rebel blocker,
he will (in all
likelihood) win the battle when he blocks. Quick
Strength simply adds to his chance of winning,
making him one of the most playable chimeras in
constructed, and giving him a place in most
rebel decks, and maybe Shou Tucker as well.
In limited, he's a bit harder to play due to his
unfortunate Loyal: 3.
He's still very playable if you have a rebel
leader, so if you can play him, do so. It's just
that he's unlikely to be able to be played.

Limited: 3/5 |

If you ask many
people what set they prefer the least most
people will say Alchemist Gate, due to it's lack
of really killer cards. However one thing that
Alchemist Gate brought that has turned into a
great gameplay mechanic is Quick. So this week
we take a look at allies that have Quick built
into them. The first card is a card from
Alchemist Gate itself, Dorochet, Greed's Best
Friend.
One of the better cards to come out of Alchemist
Gate, Dorochet is a 7 cost 6/5/0 with Quick: 2
and a free blocking ability. He has a loyal of 3
which means he probably won't see much play
outside of a pure rebel deck but being 7 cost
means any level 2 rebel can drop him. The Quick:
2 can potentially put him at 9/7/2 and stick a
Maul on him and that Quick: 2 becomes a Quick:
4.
Spooky Shadows is one of this cards biggest
weakness as it turns him from a blocking wall,
into a vanilla 6/5/0. Other than that with his
blocking and threat of Quicking to bigger stats,
a solid addition into any rebel deck.
Constructed: 4/5-Shut down by Spooky Shadows,
but otherwise an all-around great card.
Sealed:4/5-If you can draft a Rebel leader he's
great. Just make sure you can get around his
Loyal: 3. |

React
Strength: Dorochet blocks this attack
First off
it’s a fairly solid card. Good Level two drop
for the cost. The loyal 3 can be a bit tough if
you’ve had a bad start but shouldn’t be too
problematic at this point in the game. The real
power here is the ability to block an attack and
then use quick to boost his stats in just the
right way.
It’s a very
good card and no matter how I look at it has
much more plus than negative. It’s got solid
stats, great abilities and a natural boost. Not
much more you can ask for in an ally you can
drop by turn two with the right starters.
Final call
Constructed
4/5
Rebel decks
need this card; it’s just plain smart to do so.
Limited 3/5
It’s still
good but will depend on you getting the right
leaders and allies in your pulls.
