Pojo's Fullmetal Alchemist
News Advantages Advantages are a new card type introduced in Artificial Human. They have a gold coin in the upper-left corner, but no attributes. Like allies, they cost command points and are played during the recruit phase. You cannot start the game with an advantage in play. Playing an advantage costs command in the same way that an ally does and uses your action in the Play-or-Pass structure during the recruit phase. You play advantages into your home area; they stay there until an effect discards them. They are not characters; they do not count toward ally limits, cannot assign to search parties, and cannot be affected by cards that affect characters. Most advantages have passive abilities, such as "Each player draws 1 extra card during the draw phase." These abilities are in effect while the advantage is in play. Advantages with activated abilities may be used once per turn, like any other card with an activated ability. To use such an ability, you must select one of your characters who could legally play an event with the same text as the ability on the advantage; for example, only a character in a search party could play an ability that starts with Search or Battle. The selected character must also meet all costs of the ability, though he may use Equivalent Exchange to meet attribute costs. A player can't have more than one advantage with the same name in play. |
