Sensei's Trial tournament series announced
for FMA TCG
CHARLOTTE, NC (February
6, 2006) -- The snow is starting to melt, the flowers are
starting to bloom, and the Super Bowl is over. Winter is
coming to an end and spring is just around the corner. Not
only does that mean a runny nose and itchy eyes for everyone
and their allergies but it also means that it's time for the
start the Fullmetal Alchemist TCG Championship Season!
The 2006 FMA TCG Championship Season consists of three major
event categories: the Sensei's Trials, the Regional
Championships, and the 2006 World Championship at Gen Con
Indy in August.
First up are the FMA TCG Sensei's Trial Tournament Series.
The Sensei's Trial is a series of local-level events. These
events will take place at local gaming stores and gaming
clubs around the world on a regular basis. A Sensei's Trial
is a single-day constructed Swiss event. The top four
finishers from the Swiss portion of the event will compete
in a single-elimination playoff to win the Sensei's Trial.
The winner of the Sensei's Trial will qualify for the FMA
TCG World Championship at Gen Con Indy without having to
compete in qualifying events.
The Sensei's Trial is broken down into three Sprints. The
player who wins the most Sensei's Trial tournaments in any
given Sprint will also receive a badge to Gen Con Indy to
participate in the FMA TCG World Championships. The three
Sprints for the 2005 Championship season are February 20
through March 31, April 1 through May 31, and June 1 through
August 11.
Sprint One starts on February 20 and applications are
available now. A Tournament Organizer or retailer should
download the application, fill it out, and return it to
apply for a Sensei's Trial. The cost for a Sprint One
Sensei's Trial is $30.00. A store may register for a maximum
of two Sensei's Trial tournaments per Sprint. The prizes
include 30 random foils and 8 random chase cards from
Premier Edition, Blood & Water, and Artificial Human. The
winner also qualifies for the 2006 FMA TCG World
Championship, including all tournament entry fees associated
with it.
Stay tuned to www.fma-tcg.com later this month for details
on Regional Championships and the prizes for the 2006 FMA
TCG World Championship! Any questions about the Sensei's
Trial tournaments should be directed to tournaments@fma-tcg.com.
