Garden Rose Flora – #LIOV-EN036
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters – You can target 1 card in the Field Zone; destroy it, then Special Summon to its controller’s field, 1 “Rose Token” (Plant/DARK/Level 2/ATK 800/DEF 800) in Attack Position, also you cannot Special Summon monsters from the Extra Deck for the rest of this turn, except Synchro Monsters. You can only use this effect of “Garden Rose Flora” once per turn. Once per Chain, during your opponent’s Main Phase, you can (Quick Effect): Immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon using this card you control.

Hello Pojo Fans,
Garden Rose Flora is the newest Plant Synchro to the TCG that is also a Tuner, perfect for the Black Rose archetype.
Generic materials for this Level 5 beauty. While not the strongest by far, she’s more about strategy. Yang Zing style Quick Effect for Synchro Summoning on your opponents turn using her gives her the ability to spring Black Rose Dragon or the newest successor to Black Rose (who we’re reviewing on Friday), both monsters being devastating to your opponents turn. Field Spell pop for a “Rose Token” much like Black Garden, which you may pop to activate this effect. Locking you into Synchro Monsters works with her Synchro Summoning, and you can do all your Xyz, Fusion, and Link Summoning before using her effect. Flora wants to pop your own Field Spell to give you a token to get an instant Black Rose Dragon, or set up to do it during your opponents turn. This is great, but it forces you to play Field Spell(s) in your deck. The archetype likes Black Garden, and there are other Field Spell cards to play, but this token producing effect off the Field Spell pop isn’t what makes Flora good. What makes her good is her ability to Synchro during your opponents turn and force them to focus on her and not any of your other monsters.
Easy to summon, generic, and helps you Synchro climb.

Next up we finally get a Synchro Tuner for Akiza’s strategy as we have Garden Rose Flora.
Flora is a Level 5 LIGHT Plant Synchro Tuner with 800 ATK and 1600 DEF. Pretty low stats for Level 5, but it is a Tuner Synchro and has some good qualities like LIGHT and Plant. It’s a generic Synchro of any Tuner and non-Tuner(s), so it shouldn’t be a hassle to get out. You can target a card in the Field Zone to destroy it and summon a Rose Token (Plant/DARK/Level 2/ATK 800/DEF 800) to the field of whoever controlled the destroyed Field Zone card. You might want to pop your Field Spell more likely to get that Token for a Synchro play if you already got use out of it, but it does remove an opponent’s Field Spell that might stop you from playing or really boosts the opponent’s strategy. The Token is irrelevant to the board in the sense it’ll be used for an Extra Deck summon if you got it or you can easily destroy it if the opponent got it. You can only summon Synchros from the Extra Deck after using this effect, so do your Link stuff and whatnot first. This is a hard once per turn as well, preventing Token spam in exchange for used up Field Spells. This card also lets you Synchro Summon during the opponent’s Main Phase as a Quick Effect, which is nice to drop a Black Rose Dragon on the opponent’s turn. Just make sure this is the 1st chain link so Black Rose doesn’t miss timing on summon. It’s not an insane card, but it has its use. At worst it gets rid of a Black Garden you can’t trigger to revive something, but you’d prefer to instead remove a Field Spell you used up or the opponent will keep using.

Fun fact here, and I’ll cycle back to this in art, but I always check to see what Crunch does for his art scores before I type these, cause I always take in the art of a card first before I do my reviews. We generally agree, but I’ve got a word for him here at the end =D
So, we’re all going to look at Garden Rose Flora, and our hearts are going to fill with warm and summer love, and good vibes…and this must be how she defeats you, cause that 800 attack on a Level 5 probably won’t do very much. Light and Plant is a bit different, but both well supported (the 1600 defense still troublesome) but being a Synchro Tuner gets some style points anyway, and the generic 1 Tuner and 1+ non-Tuner requirement for Synchro Summon is great. You can Target and destroy a Field Magic, interesting enough, and sometimes that is beneficial. The good…bad…the THING about (most) Field Magics is, they’re decent enough these days, but sometimes after a Turn or two, you might have gotten all the use you need from it. So replacing and/or destroying it can serve a purpose. Destroying said Field card grants a Token to the player who controlled said card. (Plant/Dark/Level 2/800 atk/def per) as should 99% of the time be something you’re all but immediately making an Extra Deck play off. If your opponent gets it, which I mean, could happen, being so paltry in stats it would be easy to remove. You’re Turn locked into Synchro Summoning only Plants for the rest of the current Turn, but that’s pretty run of the mill anymore (and should also be irrelevant) so pay it no mind. Finally, a Quick Effect, let’s you immediately Synchro Summon after this Effect resolves, once per Chain, and we get to the diamond of this card here. Being able to pull Effects off in Yugioh is everything. Being able to pull off Effects in Yugioh AND discard the clutter after its used its Effects is everything else my friends. This has to be during your opponent’s Main Phase, not just anywhere in their Turn, and that’s a bit rough I think, but that does help keep a card that’s good grounded.

Crunch was a little light on his art rating I think
