WarlockBlitz This is a beautiful card. Garden Rose Maiden is a Level 5 Dark Plant-type Synchro Monster with 1600 Atk and 2400 Def. She’s nice and generic, requiring only a Tuner and any 1 or more non-Tuners. The only stat that is truly good is the 2400 Def since she’s not a Dragon. When Special Summoned from anywhere, you get to add Black Garden from your deck or grave to your hand. Black Garden was yesterday’s Field Spell that generates tokens and can revive more monsters. Black Garden could also just be used for fodder for something like Twin Twisters. From the grave, Garden Rose Maiden can banish herself to Special Summon a targeted Rose Dragon monster or any (properly summoned) Dragon Synchro Monster. This is the more versatile effect since it does not specify anything other than Dragon Synchro. There are ways to get her into the grave without putting her on the field first just to revive a good Crystal Wing or something. Level 5 is easy to work with and should be considered in any Dragon Synchro based decks. Happy Friday. Score: 4.25/5 Art: 5/5 |
King of Lullaby Hello Pojo Fans, Garden Rose Maiden wraps up the week. A smaller Synchro for the Plant archetype, GRM can be made rather easily with the amount of Tuner monsters in the archetype and the abundance of tokens that get produced within the support for Plants. Generic Synchro with decent DEF, she gets you your Black Garden from your deck or grave, helping out to stagger your opponent or get you another Field Spell to combine with Blooming of the Darkest Rose. Dragon Synchro monster Special Summon from the grave is a tremendous plus. Get back a Stardust for a one-time negation, or Crystal Wing Synchro for continuous negations. Black Rose can use its little-used effect within the archetype, but sadly no pop effect. Special Summoning a “Rose Dragon” puts emphasis on using Red Rose or White Rose within your strategy for your Plants. Red Rose will get you a Blooming of the Darkest Rose or a Frozen Rose (Frozen Rose the best choice). White Rose isn’t as useful, not being a Tuner or having a good effect when used as Synchro material. Best way of using Garden Rose Maiden is getting her out after having a Dragon Synchro in the graveyard, get that Black Garden with her to stall/lockdown your opponent, and get the Dragon Synchro monster back once she hits the graveyard. With your Plant Tuners you could get your Crystal Wing Synchro out using her as material, then have her ready to bring it back later. Advanced-3/5 Art-5/5- my fiance thinks she looks like Stella Nox Fleuret, for those who know of Final Fantasy Versus XIII Until Next Time |
Crunch$G Yesterday I said playing a copy of Black Garden might be worth it in a Plant deck, well I only said one because of this card, Garden Rose Maiden. Garden Rose Maiden is a Level 5 DARK Plant Synchro with 1600 ATK and 2400 DEF. 2400 DEF is great and makes up for 1600 ATK as I’d like to see one of the stats be great on a Level 5, DARK and Plant makes for a good combination as well. The summoning requirements of this card are 1 Tuner and any 1+ non-Tuners, so very easy to summon and getting 5 Levels for the Synchro Summon of this isn’t going to be very hard. If this card is Special Summoned, you can add 1 Black Garden from your deck or GY to your hand. This kinda makes playing more than 1 Black Garden not too necessary since Garden Rose Maiden can retrieve it if need be. If you have Black Garden and two Rose Tokens somewhere on the field with no other Plants, then you can use Black Garden with the two Rose Tokens to revive this from the GY and she’ll get back Black Garden from your GY, which can make for a nice play. You can also banish this card from your GY to target 1 Rose Dragon or 1 Dragon Synchro in your GY and Special Summon it. Being able to revive monsters to extend plays is very good, or to get back one of your disruptions. This being a Level 5 means Glow-Up Bulb and White Rose Dragon can be used to summon this, then White Rose will summon Red Rose and you can use that and this for Crystal Wing Syncrho Dragon and she can revive White Rose or Red Rose the same turn and if you got another monster(s) to use, you can go for more Synchros like F.A. Dawn Dragster or Borreload Savage Dragon if you had a Link Monster for more Extra Deck Zones or you can use her on a later turn to revive Crystal Wing if it is destroyed or sent to the GY via other means. Both effects are a hard once per turn so you don’t get too many monsters back and if you summon this use it for a summon of something else and then try to use Black Garden to revive this the same turn, you can’t just get Black Garden back that easily and you’ll have to wait. Garden Rose Maiden is a really nice Synchro in the Plant deck since she and the other new cards help make a big board and then activate Black Garden to make monsters hard to kill. One or two in the Extra Deck is perfectly fine in the Plant deck. Advanced Rating: 4.25/5 Art: 5/5 I really love the white dress and the maiden in the garden, looks very beautiful. |
Alex Searcy What a pretty little Maiden to close the week. Garden Rose Maiden is a Level 5, Dark, Plant Synchro, with 1600 attack and 2400 defense, who is Synchro Summoned with a Tuner and one or more non-Tuner Monsters. The 1600 attack is a bit off putting at first glance but the 2400 defense should be more than solid in most situations when using this card. When Special Summoned, you can add a Black Garden from your Deck or Graveyard to your Hand (as looked at yesterday). The versatility of Black Garden being able to be fetched from either place is nice (but I’m still standing by you don’t NEED to run said card in your Plant Deck). But, I’m assuming if you’re using Garden Rose, you’re probably playing a Black Garden anyway. Finally, by removing Garden Rose from your Graveyard from play, you can Target a Rose Dragon or Dragon type Synchro Monster from your Graveyard and Special Summon it. Nice 1-for-1 trade there to bring out another, most likely, more powerful Monster. Black Rose Dragon, Stardust Dragon, Crystal Wing Synchro Dragon are all nie choices here, just for a few options. Not an attacker, but still good for Plants. Rating: 4/5 Art: 5/5 The roses are actually dark here, but the Maiden herself looks more like a Fairy, with all the bright colors and warmth in this picture, as well as her white dress and long, blonde hair. |
