'Sup, homies? Today I'm reviewing two cards- Transfiguration Exam and
Transfiguration Test. Both cards are rare and need Transfiguration
Lessons to power up (duh).
Transfiguration Exam
Spell / 10 T
Discard all Creatures from play (even your own).
Transfiguration Lessons are pretty common in decks, and they should be,
because there are some good cards available in that department. The first
outstanding aspect of this card is the steep cost, 10 Lessons (at least 1 being
Trans.). However, this Spell packs one of the most interesting effects in this
TCG. 'Discard all Creatures from play'. Some downsides, some upsides. Obviously,
if you have an established Creature army, this card can kill you if you play it.
But in a deck with few to no Creatures (like a heavy-damage Potions deck), this
thing is extroardinary. Imagine with me (*cough* corny *cough*)- your opponent
has 2 Mountain Trolls, a Norbert, and 3 Vicious Wolves in play as result of a
large Lesson-pool. Things are cruising right along when- BAM!- you play
Transfiguration Exam and those fatties go to waste! Devastating when played at
the right time...
If you're going to play this card, use it in the right deck style. A deck
with few Creatures (or none at all) will benifit the most from
Exam. If you put it in a heavy-Creature deck (like a Hagrid-Steelclaw
style), you're gonna shoot yourself in the foot.
My Rating: 5 out of 5
Use it?: Yes, it's awesome if you play it in a specialty deck (with few or
no Creatures).
Next card-
Transfiguration Test
Spell / 5 T
If your opponent has 2 or more Creatures in play, he or she chooses 1
of them and discards the rest. Then, if you have 2 or more Creatures in play,
choose 1 of them and discard the rest.
Just call it 'Exam's Lil' Bro'. It has pretty much the same effect except
both players get to keep one Creature of their choice in play, and there has to
be more than one Creature on a side for it to work. And, of
course, it has a cost that's twice as small. With this card, you can have more
Creatures in your deck and still use it. But a non-Creature deck gets the most
out of Test. This effect is really good when your opponent has built up several
hard-hitting Creatures, but it can harm you, too, if you also have a decent
Creature supply.
My Rating: 4 out of 5
Use It?: Yes, Test is a good card, but (like Exam), use it in the right
deck or you may be harming yourself, too.
Catch ya later, Potterheads! ;-)
