Okay, Okay. This is first deck report to POJO. I
have played hundreds of Pokemon and Magic games and I have always want to write
a report in but never could remember what happen during the games. Even been to
a couple of big events. This is not really a 'Killer Deck Report' because there
has not been yet a large gathering of Harry Potter players. What I have
done is taken one of the starters and been using it to teach other people how to
play, so far it has been around 10-12 different people. Some are Pokemon players
and even Magic players, but they won't admit to player Harry Potter TCG. I would
let them use one of the decks in the starter and I would use the other.
Everybody like the game and had a good time, but we will see if any will take it
seriously. Anyways about my deck:
Hermione's Flaming Tongue
Hermione(Main)
15 Charms
1 Borrowed Wand
1 Dragon Heart Wand
1 Phoenix Feather Wand
3 Ollivanders
3 Wingardium Leviosa
4 Wizard Crackers
3 Accio
3 Baubillious
4 Magical Mishap
3 Toe Biter
3 Incendio
4 Vermillious
4 Stupefy
4 Bluebell Flames
4 Fumos
They say it couldn't be done, well it is done. This
is a fast damage deck, like Burn in Magic:TG. To clear up the 4 Privet Drive
issue I will say this, Bring it on! The Wands are nice, I only have one of each
because you can only have one in play at a time. The Ollivanders are used to get
the Wands back if need be. Windgardium Leviosa is great to help keep your damage
spells focus on your opponent and not their creatures. Wizard Crackers is a
wonder card drawer and Baubillious is down right mean to damage your opponent or
creature and then you can draw a card. Magical Mishap will probably be splash in
every deck, 3 damage for 2 Lessons, or slap down 6 damage on second turn, ouch!
Toe Biter is a overlook card that does 2 to your opponent and than 2 to any
creature of thiers that is in play. Incendio is a creature destroyer that's all
there is to it. Vermillious, it cost twice as much as Magical Mishap but you get
to choose a creature if you want or need to do 3 damage to. Stupefy: 4 times 5
is 20 cards, that's 1/3 of their deck. Bluebell Flames is for bigger critters or
a little extra smack on your opponent. Fumos is my favorite card, all creatures
get 2 damage, bye bye winnies. Or soften up some fat creatures.
One thing I have learned from Magic is the mana
curve. I think you can apply this to Harry Potter too. This decks highest
spell cost is 7 Lessons. But with Hermione as your starter all you have to
do is get 4 Charms into play and a Dragon Heart Wand into play and your good to
go with 7 Lessons available to power all of your spells.
Well have fun with this deck, you are welcome to
try it for yourself and any modifications to it are also welcome. I have played
it against my wife and son's decks that they made and it has not lost a game. It
came close to one game where I had 3 cards left and I drew a Stupefy and played
it and another Stupefy in my hand and he had one card left at the
beginning of his turn. He had 3 creatures in play also. Well that all for
now.
