Hey Pojo, I looked at the spoiler and I decided to
rate the rare cards on what I thought about them. The rest will be
comming soon, and this list may be updaated. I just wanted to give ya'll a taste
of whats to come. I know that not everyone will agree, because everyone has
their opinion, this is mine, feel free to email me for this or other articles
that I Have Done/Will Do or suggestions or anything else @ kag1144@hotmail.com .
Dean Thomas - 5.0/10 - I gave it that rating
because it is only once a game and only 3 cards, if you wanted cards then you
would use Harry Potter because you can keep using the ability.
Draco Malfoy - 7.5/10 - Draco is a very good card,
it is usefull in "Chess With Draco" (The Human Chess Game + Draco combo) and it
is very good with Mrs. Norris and in many other ways. The reason it didn't get
more is because there ARE better cards, like Hermione, Hagrid, etc.
Dragon's Escape - 4.5/10 - This card only has one
good purpose, to get rid of your opponents lessons. The only problem with that
is that Hermiones are everywhere, so by the time you get that card out, they
have enough lessons, and you take 3 damage. Plus it is an Adventure so it takes
two actions. NOT worth it.
Elixir of Life - 8.0/10 - This card is very good,
16 cards!!!! That is basically 1/4th of a deck. This card lets you get back all
those cards that you 'need' to win that they made you discard. The only drawback
is that it is expensive and you have to sac two Potions. Still
good.
Gringotts' Cart Ride - 7.5/10 - This card really
slows your opponent down by making him/her discard. They also have to skip 5
Actions which will put you ahead of them. Plus the reward helps you also, they
have to draw 5 cards or none. If they draw 5, then that puts you in the lead of
decks, and if they draw nothing, then that helps you also, because they will be
behind on card drawing and hand size.
Hannah Abbott - 6/10 - Yes, I did rate her a bit
below than she should be, only for a reason, She is a character, which means you
have to use up two actions to play her and I don't believe the ability is worth
it. I would not play this card in a deck.
Harry Potter - 7.5/10 - Ah, the star of it all,
except you would think that he would be broken, but in fact, he isn't. Harry
does have a good ability and all but if you do draw two cards constantly, that
gets you closer to decking. It is good in a 'Hagrid Claw' deck because it gets
you ahead. And in that deck Speed = Good.
Hermione Granger - 10/10 - Hermione = BrOkEn.
(Waits To Argue For This One) Two lessons instead of 1 is EXTREMELY Good!
It lets you get off to a start faster and be able to play stuff like Turn 2
Norbert, Turn 3 Unicorn, And many others. She is a great starting
character, And I believe that every deck should have her in it (Except
House Decks...Hermione and Slythren don't mix very well). She is great in 'Snape
Attack' , 'Hagrid Claw' , 'Griffondor House Deck' and all other decks.
Don't say she can't do all that, believe me, I've done it.
Human Chess Game - 7/10 - This card is only good in
one deck 'Chess With Draco'. In most other decks this card is useless, it would
be hard to play no cards the whole time. It does have a hard solution for them.
They have to rid of one of their characters, other than the starting character.
And the reward isn't that good for them either. Thats why is got a
seven.
Invisibility Cloak - 6/10 - Don't get me wrong,
this card is good, but only in certian situations. A lot of decks don't have
burn spells and if they do, by the time you get enough lessons, you have
probably lost. If HP ever gets a Side Board then
this card would be good for it.
Nearly Headless Nick - 6/10 - His ability is good,
but he is a character and I don't believe that his ability is worth two actions,
because there arent many item cards worth it. He is unique but I don't believe
that your opponent will be playing him.
Oblivate - 8/10 - This card is very good. Espically
when you use it early game by getting enough lessons out with Hermione. This
card + cards like 4 Privit drive and other adventures where they have to
discard. I recommend using about 2-3 in most decks. (Note: MOST not
all)
Professor Filius Flitwick - 7/10 - His ability
isn't that great, but the only reason that I gave it a seven is because he
provides a Charms lesson, so as long as you don't use Charms spells that discard
lessons, you can start with him and use some cards like Stupify and Other direct
damage spells without using Charms lessons.
Professor Severus Snape - 8/10 - Snapes ability is
very good. Seven cards can help a lot, especilly because you don't have to
discard any lessons to use it. He also provides a Potion Lesson, which is
usefull. Like with Flitwick, you could play Potion Spells without Lessons but
they couldn't discard lessons, and because most Potion Spells involve discarding
lessons, that probably wouldn't work very well. Snape is still very good in a
Potion Burn Spell deck.
Ron Weasley - 5.5/10 - Ron is only usefull in a
deck with lots of characters, like a house deck, but because most decks only
play about two characters, Ron isn't that great.
Rubeus Hagrid - 9/10 - This card is very good, like
one example is the 'Hagrid Claw' deck, it adds two damage per creature, so if
you happen to have two Baby Dragons and a Norbert out in play, instead of
doing 11 damage, if Hagrid is in play then you do 17 damage, 6 Damage!!! That
sure adds up, after 3 turns with those creatures you have done an addional 18
damage, About 1/3rd of their deck!!! This card is just plain good and I believe
that if you do use creatures that deal more that 2 damage, Hagrid is a must
have.
Troll In The Bathroom - 7.5/10 - This card is very
deadly with a well timed Oblivate. If you happen to have a Unicorn in play,
then what you do is you Oblivate your opponent and then cast Troll In The
Bathroom. Two damage also mounts up, you could also add Malfoy to a deck like
this to keep their hand size at a minimum. And then you just chip away at their
deck. Too bad you can't have two Adventures in play at a time or I would have my
Draco/Human Chess Game/TITB deck built where I quickly rid their hand and get
the advertures out.
Unicorn - 9/10 - This card is broken. VERY Broken,
You can virtually play them for free, with the exception of destroying a lesson.
These can be very powerful at times, an example of that is that you can play an
Adventure and something else, Like a well cast TITB and Oblivate via Unicorn can
be excallent. In my version of the 'Hagrid Claw' I use Unicorns, because I can
use multiple Steelclaws in one turn.
Delivery Owl - 5/10 - This card can be risky,
because the more cards you draw, the closer you come to losing, and the card
doesn't say that you MAY draw an addional card, it says basically that you
must draw. Personally, I wouldn't use this card. But I have friends that
would.
Draught Of Living Death - 8.5/10 - Twelve damage
can be devestating to your opponent, because if you play 4 in a deck and
happen to get lessons out fast via Hermione then you can play lots of these.
Then with Snape you can put them back for more punishment for your opponent. The
only drawback is that you have to sac lessons, but they can be quickly replaced
with Hermione.
Harry Hunting - 7.5/10 - This card can be very
usefull when cast on turn one. But late game, when your opponent has plenty
lessons this card is useless. The only reason this card got that rating is
because of the solution, and your opponent will really want to solve it, just to
make them feel better (Believe me ;) ) and that means -7 cards for your
opponent and all they get to do for the Reward is put a lesson into play,
which wouldn't be that usefull for them.
History Of Magic - 8/10 - This card cast on
turn one in a CH/P deck via Snape/Flitwick can get rid of all those pesky 4
Privit Drives outta Play, it is a very good card, I recommend (If You are
playing CH) about 2 in a deck.
Incendio - 8/10 - If you are playing a Mono CH deck
then you should run 4 of these, Hermione can get out a heap of lessons
really quick and you can hit them for about 10 every time you use this
card, you could also use Flitwick to get these back to your hand and hit them
for some more. This is a very good card overall.
Malevolent Mixture - 8/10 - This card is also very
good with Hermione in a Potions deck. You should run four of these because
casting this on turn 3 would be very good, then you keep hitting them with
Spells like this and Drought. I would run 4/4 with this and Drought in a deck
with Hermione/Snape.
Meet The Centaurs - 4.5/10 - This card isn't that
great, considering that you could just get Mrs. Norris to do the same thing.
Plus, if your opponent is Smart, they won't care about it and take advantage of
it. Like when you get rid of all their good cards in a Malfoy/Meet The Centaurs
deck, they might go ahead and discard the bad cards to solve. I wouldn't
recommend this card.
Mountain Troll - 6.5/10 - This creature might look
strong, but he is very expensive and he can be destroyed with most spells. The
reason this card got this rating is because you can use it with Hagrid and their
is no drawback.
Mrs. Norris - 7/10 - Mrs. Norris has basically two
functions, for use in a Malfoy Control deck or to annoy your opponent. I
definatly would use this instead of Meet The Centarus, because it is just much
better. Don't use this card unless you are planning on using some discarding
thing (Draco/Oblivate/etc).
Norbert - 8.5/10 - Man, I really wanted to
give 'Bert a higher rating but I couldn't because he has a drawback. Discarding
lessons, two lessons gone on turn two can really hurt you. I would only
recommend using 'Bert if you are using something that can get out Lessons
Quickly. And because he is unique I would only recommend using about two in a
deck. He is a complete powerhouse when used with Hagrid. 7 a
turn!!!
Phoenix Feather Wand - 7/10 - Basically this is
just playing four lessons in one card. It is pretty good, the only problem is
that it is expensive so by the time you get out 7 lessons to play this card you
will have enough to play basically anything.
Platform 9 3/4 - 5/10 - I would much rather use
Unicorn instead of this, this card gives you 1 extra action that turn while
Unicorn gives you 1 extra action Each turn. I don't think this card is worth it
and I don't think anyone should use this card.
Potion Ingredients - 4/10 - I would
much rather use Kelpie than this card because with Kelpie, you
can deal damage. I wouldn't even waste my time on this card.
Raven To Writing Desk - 10/10 - This is a very
cheap creature removal and you even get to choose the creature. If you
use Tranfig. in a deck DEFINATLY use 4 of these. This card is too good to pass
up.
Shrinking Potion - 6/10 - I would much rather use
Dungbomb than this, for one, this card is a rare and it is very expensive, I
don't like this card and hope I don't come across it in a pack.
Titillando - 7/10 - This card is a great card and
all the only drawback is that it is expensive. If you think that you can get out
enough lessons then definatly run 4 of these. Using this to deal 3 to their deck
and then they discard 3 is very good.
Transfiguration Exam - 7.5/10 - This card is just
likw WoG for Magic. It is a very good card, but it is expensive,
which means is hard to get out. A deck that this card would go well in is a
Potion/Transfig deck. You can kill off creatures and hurt them with spells.
Other than that deck I wouldn't recommend using this card.
Transfiguration Test - 6.5/10 - If you are using
this card for creature removal in a no creature deck, use Exam rather than this
=/. I hope everyone has enough sense to not use this card. ;x.
Thanx 4 Ur Time,
