Legolas here again.
This tip is on whether you should chose to play "Doxy" from Quidditch Cup,
or "Black Bat" from Adventures at Hogwarts. Let's take a look at both of the
cards:
Doxy
6 Care of Magical Creatures
When you play this card, you may choose another creature in play. Do 2
damage to it.
Damage each turn: 2
Health: 1
Creature -- Fairy
Quidditch Cup -- Uncommon
Black Bat
4 Care of Magical Creatures
When you play this card, do 2 damage to your opponent.
Damage each turn: 2
Health: 1
Creature -- Bat
Adventures at Hogwarts -- Common
>From a first glance, it may seem like Black Bat totally out does Doxy, but
let's get a little more in depth. Doxy is one of the best ways to damage
Creatures while hurting an opponent. It is the best Creature that does
damage to one of it's kind, although not the only. Creatures can be very
lethal -- especially if they have been in play for a long time. One popular
Creature now is Chimaera, which can be knocked out by Doxy when you play it!
Getting rid of a Creature and putting one of your own Creatures in play can
be a great advantage! 2 damage per turn can eventually add up, especially
if you have more than one of them out. Its 1 health is bad, but hey, it's
almost the same as two health, considering that most cards that damage
creatures do at least 2 damage. Doxy can also be a good sacrifice if you
need one, so you can keep your better cards out in play. It is uncommon,
which means these will be semi-hard to find, so getting four may take more
than 7 packs, so be patient if you want this!
Now, the Black Bat. I love this card. Although I play both of the cards
featured in this article, if your in a jam and you only want to use one,
then this should help you decide which. When you play Black Bat, it does 2
damage to your opponent. I love this. Why? Well, some of the most common
decks are denial decks, so you at least get one hit in before they can get
it out of play. It also can get out on the second turn with its four power
requirement, so use that to your advantage! Black Bat could continue to pick
at your opponents deck for five turns or more. You might not think this is a
lot, but every single bit of damage counts, and in the end, it all adds up.
:) It's very cheap, so it fits in with a lot of decks. It is also common, so
you should be able to pick up a lot of these while getting some Adventures
at Hogwarts cards! But, which is right for YOUR deck . . .?
Personally I favor Black bat. But, well, if you want to know which to use in
your deck, it depends (for the most part). If you are playing a creatures
deck, I suggest both, so you can get out creatures quick, then a few turns
later, get rid of your opponents creatures. If you are weak to creatures,
and you only play a few Care of Magical Creatures, then you should probably
put Doxy in. Most Transfiguration cards can get rid of Creatures, so if you
play those, Black Bat would be your best bet. If your playing a Charms and
Quidditch deck with light Care of Magical Creatures, then I suggest Doxy to
get rid of your opponents Creatures (if any).
I hope this helped you decide whether or not to choose Doxy or Black Bat, if
you are still unsure, feel free to e-mail me.
