Hey there everyone.
As long as this game's been goin on, one of the most popular decks to
play has been the CMC/T/CH beatdown deck. This deck has had many styles and
forms, but it almost always starts with either Flitwick or McGonagall. But
which is right for your deck?
I think overall, Flitwick is better, because McGonagall has made
herself weaker. Since everyone plays McGonagall, adventures are not played
very frequently anymore. So usually you don't even use McGonagall's ability.
And any adventures that don't affect spells can be removed with Picking on
Neville, Scribblifors, Diffindo, etc. Flitwick on the other hand, becomes
stronger with each new charms card. You can use his ability to get back the
stream of flames or bewitched snowballs to kill a creat, the halloween feast
to keep recycling your creats, or if you're not gettin lessons you can get
back the borrowed wand you need. Flitwick's ability is useful almost every
game. However, each deck is unique, so of course you have to decide which
character to use.
For low cost creat decks, I think Flitwick is better because they
concentrate more on quantity of creats rather than high attack. Halloween
Feast is important in these decks to keep the damage flowing. So I would use
Flitwick here.
More high cost, high power creature decks should use McGonagall because
then you would be playing CMC and CH lessons rather than CMC and T. This is
important because with CH you can use Dragon Heart Wand or Wand Shop to get
up to the power you need for Hebridean, Giant Squid, Welsh Dragon, etc.
OK I think that's enough rambling for now. If you haven't joined the
Apprentice League yet, you should. K Cyalls Later
