Hello
MadEye,
My name is Sam and I would like you to help me fix my deck. My main combo is to
stall with Privet Drive with Obliviate to bring out Hebridean Black Dragon.
Kelpie helps take damage from hard-hitting spells, like Malevolent Mixture.
Wand Shop and Dragon Heart Wand help power up for costly cards like Obliviate.
Steelclaw help add damage with Hebridean Black Dragon and Hermione's there to
help play more lessons per turn.
Starter: Professor Minerva McGonagall
Ally: Hermione Granger
Creatures______
4 Hebridean Black Dragon
3 Kelpie
Spells_________
2 Vermillious
2 Stupefy
3 Chocolate Frogs
4 Obliviate

So there it is. I think Good Nights Sleep would be good for McGonagall and
maybe Hagrid Needs Help but you can help me decide that. Thanks a bunch! :)
=================================
Thanks
for sending in a good write up on your deck Sam. I am guessing you sent a 60
card list instead of 61 due to your last statement. But for those of out you
who are new at the game, it is a 60 card deck AND a starting character; so 61
total!
I
can see the problem you have been having with your deck is not drawing the
right cards. Your lesson count is too high, and you have a few cards that
really have no purpose. You do need more creatures for this kind of deck and I
will show you how.
*creeeeeek* Merlin’s Beard! This trunk
needs some of that slick muggle spray stuff (WD-40) and Mrs. Skower’s
All-Purpose Magical Mess Remover.
CHARACTERS: I’m not a huge fan of
throwing Hermione in the game as a back up, because you could have gotten
yourself 4 lessons in play in the same amount of time you would have normally.
Also she is used by some as a starter and she may be a wasted card as it is.
We’ll get you lessons in a different way.
SIDE
NOTE…Chocolate Frogs is a pointless card for any deck with only one extra
starter, because it actually hurts you more than helps. I mean why not just
replace them with that same character because, the chances of drawing them is
the same. Plus they make you take an action to get a character. So why do in
three actions what you could do in 2.
ADVENTURES: 4 Privet Drive in your deck
is not as good a card as Through the Arch. The point of using the adventure is
to protect your creatures from harm 4 actions worth could prove to be fatal so
you’ll want 4 of those also. Believe me! 4 actions are harder on your opponent
than losing 6 cards!
SPELLS: Steelclaw is your friend,
but Vermillious is worthless when you could be using Stream of Flames (unless
your deck could handle both). Obliviate is too costly and not necessary with
you new adventure doing what 4 Privet Drive and Obliviate did at one time. Stupefy
is also going to be swapped out for anti-creature card Lapifors. This you will
find could be a winning card for you in a game at crunch time. Lets add one
Halloween Feast to your deck just in case!
ITEMS: 4 wands are better than 2.
And you key power for a quick start is 5. So you are now going to use Borrowed
Wands instead. This way you can play a creature or a spell in your second turn
depending on your draw.
LOCATIONS: 4 are nice to have!
LESSONS: I believe you will be fine
with 11 of each. You really need to focus on getting other creatures out
instead of having so many lessons now. Plus you only need to get to 8 power for
your new deck now, not 12.
CREATURES: At this point we can now add
8 more creatures. Kelpie will need to be switched out also; it is too costly of
a card! 1 Trevor and 2 Pet Toads will be fine! Cunning Fox and Boa Constrictor
will give their anti-creature cards something to deal with while you build
toward your dragons! It’s like baiting them to use their good spells against
these so when you play dragons they will have used them up already. And if they
don’t fall for your trap, it will cost them as much in the long run!
I’m
sure by now your deck feels very different! It is, you idea is still there, but
you will draw better cards this way and that is the key to having a strong
deck. If you play online at all, I’m sure you will be a contender very soon!
And
as you are aware I’m sure, if you do not give your deck a name, I will!
Good
luck with your new, Fingers In The Cage deck! See ya!
