SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE     SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE

Hey Snuffles, I was wondering if you could take a look at my deck, because I am very sick of getting my butt whipped by my friend's decks. Can you please help me out here? Here it is.

Everything BUT Charms Deck

Starter:

Prof. Minerva McGonnagal
Characters:
1 Prof. Severus Snape
1 Hannah Abbott
1 Neville Longbottom
Potionss:
4 Burning Bitterroot Balm
4 Draught of Living Death
3 Elixir of Life
4 Malevolent Mixture

Transfiguration:
2 Transfiguration Exam

Quidditch:
1 Out of Control
Adventures:
1 Hagrid Needs Help
Lessons:
5 Quidditch
8 Potions
3 Care of Magical Creatures
Items:
1 Nimbus Two Thousand
1 Hospital Bed
4 Potion Ingredients
3 Winged Keys
2 Invisibility Cloak
1 Cage
Care of Magical Creatures:
2 Guard Dog
3 Mountain Troll
1 Scabbers
1 Unicorn

The Strategy of my deck is to get my lessons out then start pounding my opponent with non-discarding spells. Then hurting my opponent with creatures. When my opponent hits me with an adventure like Gaze into the Mirror, I use McGonnagal's Special. That is my deck's strategy. Please help me out!

SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE     SNUFFLES TOTAL TWEAKAGE

Hi there Professor Flitwick a.k.a. Weasley!!! O.K. let's take a look at this…. now the first thing I notice is that you only have 58 cards here.  A full deck contains 61 including your starting character.  So that will give us a little room to work with!  Also, I think you need some more lessons and/or items to get this thing off the ground.  It appears as if you have a lot of potion eating spells.  In a four color deck, this can be hard on your deck, so we will trim those down.  I think Quidditch damage will suit your deck a lot better than the potions damage as it is four colors.  I like your mix of control and offense, but remember that Transfiguration exam kills all of your creatures also, so perhaps we might want to take another look at that.  Your use of characters looks good although you may want to think about adding another Hannah Abbott if you have her.  I am going to assume that you don't for the time being.  I am not sure how much of the Quidditch set you have, so I will try to keep those cards down to commons and uncommons unless you already have the cards listed here.  Also, I think you should focus a little less on the defense and a little more on offense.  All right now… enough jabbering onto the mech!!!!

Starter:

Prof. Minerva McGonnagal    J

(She serves you well getting rid of adventures and providing a transfiguration lesson.)

Characters:
0 Prof. Severus Snape (-1)
1 Hannah Abbott    J
1 Neville Longbottom   J

(Severus Snape is a solid card, so if you really like him, you can keep him in, the reason I took him out was simply because he is two actions for one additional lesson and a 7 card heal.  I tried to design this deck so that it uses all of its actions as best it could.  I think you will find that your turns follow a certain flow which I will explain later.)

Potionss:
4 Burning Bitterroot Balm  J
0 Draught of Living Death
(-4)
0 Elixir of Life    (-3)
0 Malevolent Mixture
(-4)

(Basically, we are trading potions damage for Quidditch Damage which is less expensive and does not eat your lessons.  I also trimmed this deck down a bit power wise so that you wouldn't have to work so hard to be able to play your power cards.)

Transfiguration:
0 Transfiguration Exam (-2)

4 Incarcifors (+4)

2 Transfiguration Test (+2)

(This deck has quite a few creatures in it, but not so many that it would be considered a swarm deck.  So you want to limit your opponents creatures, but still keep yours in play.  Incarcifors is a solid kill creature card and Transfiguration test will save you from hordes of creatures while still being able to deal your opponent damage.  If you are thinking of playing this card and you have more than one creature in play, you might want to look at the status of the game.   Am I winning???  If you are winning, than preserving the damage your creatures deal could be important.   Or you might want to wait until your opponent kills one of your creatures to play the test, thus gaining the over all advantage.)

Quidditch:
0 Out of Control (-1)

4 Fouled! (+4)

4 Ouch! (+4)

(Once again, we are trimming down the overall power your cards need.  Fouled! and Ouch! are very good bangs for their required  powers and they hurt your opponent right off the bat.  You can gain early card advantage using Fouled! to limit your opponents actions and Ouch! to limit their playing ability)

Adventures:
0 Hagrid Needs Help (-1)

3 4 Privet Drive (+3)

(Hagrid Needs Help is a good card, but it is almost always only good for one turn.  Most likely unless on the edge of death, your opponent will take the damage and draw the cards and most likely hurt you with them.  On the other hand, 4 Privet drive forces your opponent to discard cards if he or she wants to kill your creatures or cause you damage.  This further limits his or her playing ability.)

Lessons:
8 Quidditch (+3)
8 Potions  J
7 Care of Magical Creatures (+4)

(Adding lessons so that you can get off the ground quicker!)

Items:
0 Nimbus Two Thousand (-1)
0 Hospital Bed (-1)
0 Potion Ingredients (-4)
0 Winged Keys (-3)
0 Invisibility Cloak
(-2)
0 Cage (-1)

3 Pewter Cauldron (+3)

(You may decide that keeping the Nimbus Two Thousand is worth it, but your Quidditch Damage can hurt your opponent right away and waiting till you get up to seven to start hurting him or her is a dangerous gamble.  In the long run, I think you will find that although this card is powerful, it is not necessary.  Trimmed down the deck once again removing potion ingredients, winged keys, invisibility cloak, and cage.  Cage is not a bad choice, so if you like it, simply trade one of your care of magical creatures lessons for it.  But remember, you can't play it unless you have a comc in play and there is nothing more agravating than having a cage in your hand and no care of magical creatures lessons in play.  Pewter Cauldron gives you the jump from five power to seven power, enabling your deck to play almost every card in it and never having to worry about lessons again. 4 Privet Drive takes the place of potion ingredients and invisibilty cloak as they are only good against spell cards and your opponent can't play spell cards with a  4 priv in play.)

Care of Magical Creatures:
4 Guard Dog (+1)
2 Mountain Troll
(-1)
0 Scabbers (-1)
1 Unicorn
J

4 Vicious Wolf (+4)

(Love that Unicorn!!!!! if you have more, he goes so well with your deck I could almost scream in fact I think I will!!! AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! ok, just had to get that off my chest, if you have more of him, throw them in, they do the body good  Adding Vicious Wolfs so that your deck can get off the ground a little quicker and make your opponent worry a little earlier J)

Basic Flow and strategy:

Start of by hurting your opponent with quidditch spells and then start throwing out creatures, try to keep your opponents creatures off the board.  Heal only if you have nothing better to do at the moment.  If you have 4 priv and creatures, play 4 priv first so your creatures don't get eaten before they damage your opponent.  Forcing your opponent to solve has power in it.
