Neville is an unusual character whose ability appears at first to be very bad... you only take 8 damage a turn. But 8 is still quite a bit. Well, if you have enough healing and stall cards, combined with Neville, and can do a bit of damage during that time (having creatures out while you are taking 8 a turn and healing yourself every turn is good. Then you can just stall until your creatures kill them and not worry about how much damage they can do to you).

Overall though, these decks tend to be only okay, not great. The work sometimes, but they certainly aren't awesome.

Ah, Neville. The ultimate anti-creature. Neville is a really great card, as starter or back-up. You can only take 8 damage a turn! That will screw up most creature decks. But, the downside is Neville doesn't supply a lesson. But, if your opponent has Hebridean, Mountain Troll and Fluffy out, who will be complaining about that? If you can keep your damage over 8 a turn, you've won the game. This card also makes cards like Draught of Living Death, Malevolent Mixture, Steelclaw and Bulgeye Potions just like Dogbreath's, and in some cases, not even that much!

This is great card too have that anyone can use. If you have this and you heal, you could make a game outlast some players who do not heal. It has many uses but I like it best against creature and potion decks. Keep the big hits off you. If your opponent has played Neville, it can be frustrating for you. Any card that frustrates you, is a good card.

A good card to use if you want to take very little damage. This card aids creature decks, and fights spell decks. I personally hate, hate, hate to play this card seeing I play a deck that functions of high power damage.

Okay, Neville...wow, this card really used to bug the heck out of me, as an avid BeatDown player. This card, in itself, can determine whether you win or lose. It's especially helpful against Creature decks that do heavy damage every turn and run lots of Steelclaw. It renders the powerful Steelclaw useless, and is a great defense for Spell decks against the flood of damage from Creature decks. The best defense against it is diffindo, which is probably the most versatile card in HP today, but it's at a steep price of 8T *shudders*. All in all, Neville is an excellent card to counter heavy damage decks. Good for stalls and can give you the big edge over your opponent. I'll give it a...

Neville pretty much kills heavy damage decks. Potion and Quidditch decks do the most damage right now, so they'd be the ones most effected by Neville. Draught, Mav. Mixture, Bulgeye Potion, Mid-air Collision, and the newly hyped Spiral Dive decks all get a kick in the pants from Neville. Also, alot of the Matches become harder to win, and even eliminates most of the damage dealing part of the prizes. That's quite a remarkable card for a starter, but will most likely be used as back-up in most decks.

Neville Longbottom can save many a deck if the opponent is counting on heavy damage. He usually doesn't come in handy until late game and often times not at all. And with all the removal going around nowadays, you might not want to risk the 2 actions to play him. But hopefully, your opponent has other things to worry about. One of the more usefull characters i think, yet he doesn't really affect game play. I'm more of a fan of characters the let you do something. All in all though, Neville is a card that many a deck would hate to see hit the table.
