| This spell requires a whopping
10 lessons in play before it can be cast. That's quite a
challenge. If you are going to put that much time and effort into
playing a card, then you're going to want it to do something
fabulous, like "win the game". Surely, some of you are
thinking this card qualifies, as when it is played, you can't be
damaged by your opponent. Woohoo! You play "Defence!"
and then break into a little victory dance, because you know your
opponent can't hurt you on their turn. Patiently, your opponent
lets you hoof it up for a while. Once the dust settles, they'll
smile and play that Venomous Tentacular Juice in their hand. Oops!
Forced card drawing is not damage. I guess you lose after all!
Don't be lulled into a false sense of confidence because of this
card. And if you want good advice, listen to your football coach.
They'll tell you that the best defense is a good offense. When you
have 10 lessons down, don't try to avoid losing. Try to win
instead. It works much better.

For 10 power, blocking all damage
isn't that good. It takes quite a while to get up to 10 power
these days. (please don't tell me that I said it takes a short
time to get up to 10 power in other reviews. I'm right on both of
them!) If you find that you are getting creature damage use
Wingardium Leviosa! instead. If it's spell damage use cards like
Injured and Restoration Potion. I've never used this card and
never will.

| Unless you plan on blocking
some major, life threatening damage, I wouldn't recommend this
version of damage prevention. It is a bit expensive, but works
superbly. Most of the time a good Sloth Grip can do almost as good
a job for a lot cheaper. Though, this is only uncommon, if you
think you will be able to make good use of it fast enough, go for
the gold. ;-)
