The bad news is that both you and your opponent lose the same number of
lessons. The good news is that if you're playing a lesson denial deck, and you
have nine lessons out already, then you probably don't care about your three
nearly as much as they do. But gee, it takes a long time to get to nine lessons
of learning, doesn't it? I think this card isn't normally going to make the cut,
given that Transfig is loaded with a plethora of cheaper alternatives. A deck
under Hermione with this, Start-of-Term Feast, and Wand Shop does seem intriguing, however.

This card is very interesting. In essence you're trading three of your
lessons in play for three of your opponents lessons in play and attempting
to count on the fact that this will hurt you more then them. And if you're
playing with Hermoine I think you might be right. But in all essence I
don't want to build all the way up to 9 to use this card and then watch my
power drop back down to 6. Thats just not cool. If I'm up at 9 I want to
lay down some smack on my opponent with PCD or Hebridean Black Dragon, or
Bulgeye Potion or something. You know what I mean!

Ahh, tis nice to think bout cool places during the hot summer. ;')
This card is unique in it's own style. It can say, "boom" and everyone loses a bunch of
lessons. (Winter does have a stupifing effect, eh? :D) The cost is kinda steep, but for good
reason. If it only costed you 4 to play, you'd be able to hurt yourself more than you'd want.
The only time it'd really be worth playing is in lesson denial/discard decks where you'll have
plenty of lesson while trying to kill of your opponent's. You "could" play it fast under the
right circumstances: Power providing starter, two lessons in play (T&C), play Bravado, (if it
would have just costed 8, you coulda played it right now, but..) play Platform, play another
Bravado, and now you can play any Spell up to 13 power. With this way, you'd be able to only
lose 1 or 2 lessons, while your opponent would lose 3 (assuming you played it when he's got 3
or more lessons out).

When I first saw Winter Holiday I was like.... why would you play this????
and then I had someone use it on me with a Philosophers Stone Deck. It was
pretty heavy in denial and then they Philosopher Stoned on me.... Then they
hit me with Winter Holiday... The guy has like 7 million lessons out.... I
have like 4 if I'm lucky. If you can keep a lot of lessons out and keep
your opponent's down.... go to town! Otherwise just blow up the
picture and hang it on your wall.
