When I'm playing a lesson denial deck,
I dread seeing a Hermione opposite me. It turns out that she is
one of the strongest starters that doesn't have a built-in lesson.
Playing this card requires discipline, though. I've seen many kids
get impatient and not wait to draw a second lesson before putting
one down. Don't do this! Miss Granger is only worth using if you're
getting down two lessons for one action. WOTC is certainly providing
a lot of cards that combine well with her. In the newest set, we
have Hagrid's House and Potions Dungeon to get back discarded lessons,
that Hermione can put back into play efficiently. Start of Term
Feast can also let you power up on lessons quickly. I especially
like the idea of some of these cards being used in conjunction with
repeated castings of Dumbledore's Watch. If you're playing with
green, you could even add in Collapsible Cauldron to surprise your
opponent with a very explosive recovery from the clear board. On
a less spectacular note, you could try some more mundane accompaniment,
like Alchemy. I'm not a fan of using her as an allied character,
but she makes a great starter, due to the many cards in the game
which have nice synergy with her.

After you have 2 lessons in play,
two lessons for the price of one...:D That means, if you're REALLY
lucky, you will have 6 lessons out after your second turn. And 10
after your third. Can you say speed? :O This card, combined with
PCD/Obliviate decks, can get to the required lessons very quickly,
but you have to know how to use her...;)

They haven't invented a spell she
can't do and when it comes to starters she is among the best of
the best. The ability to lay lessons faster and in turn laying the
cards you want to lay faster is an ability much sought after. The
only problem with this amazing witch is that you have to get the
lessons in your hand to lay them so I would recommend playing a
large amount of lessons when you use her. She best fits in decks
that require anywhere from 7-12 lessons. When you play Hermione
you have no real need to play wands because three lessons is much
harder to get rid off then one Dragon Heart Wand. She is one of
the best starters there is and when you combo her with Potions Dungeon
or Hagrid's House it is scary to behold.

Hermoine is either highly worshipped
or highly criticized. But the fact of the matter is, she's one of
the most dangerous non lesson providing starters there is. Why might
you ask? Because she gets power fast and quick and allows for you
to speed your way to high power and beging pummeling your opponent.
Yes you normally need to equip your deck w/ alot of lessons but
in doing so, you set yourself for some hard hitting action. Now
Hermoine might get a bum rap sometimes, but I really think that
if you give her a chance in certain combo decks, she could really
clean up.

You want the best; you got the best.
They don't make a spell she can't do and no one makes your lessons
grow faster. She is hands down one of the best starters in the game.
Remembrall and Hermione can even act like a lesson healing combo,
pulling 2 lessons from the discard pile at a time. She is the fastest
creatures speed deck starter in the game still after 4 sets. She
is top of the class for one reason; she studies her lessons.

The original Critter deck starter,
Hermione is and always will be a valid starter in my oppinion. The
only problem with Hermione is that in order to use her ability to
your advantage you have to stack your deck with lessons. I suggest
somewhere between 28-32. This may seem a bit much, but if you want
to be sure to get those lessons fast and get them out fast, you
need to have that many. I have seen decks with as many as 45 lessons
in a Hermione deck. Now that is Scary!!!! Plus with the new locations:
Hagrid's Hut and Potions Dungeon, you can play stuff that makes
you lose lessons and play them again the next turn!!! How can you
beat that? In a word, You can't! Er is that two words? Snuffy don
know... Snuffy is a dog so he ain't got no fingers to count on.
