I'm a little leery of the high lesson cost to cast this spell, especially given
its balanced effect. Still, you gotta like a spell that makes your opponent
lose three lessons all at once. This card combines well with Hagrid's
House or Potions Dungeon and Hermione. I also appreciate the idea of
using Bravado and wands to play this before you get three lessons into
play. Yes, this is a fun card to build a deck around. It's just too bad that
other types of lesson denial are much more effective.

In Philosopher Stone decks, this card is amazing after using Phil. Stone.
It's like a Potions Exam with no chance of them preventing it! 9C is easy to
reach, and with Wand Shop, you could be able to use it discarding your
Charms, but Wand Shop still gives you a boost. :) Late in the game, this
card is great. Kill any possible comeback that your opponent could have! :D

Yay~ The holidays are here and guess what! Its winter!! O' boy this is an
interesting card kinda like a Potions Exam except this is directed to
lessons on both sides of the table. And another thing. This card is
targetted against lesson cards. So if you play a Trans/Charms/Potions denial
this card might work out. Considering you have a bunch of cauldrons, a wand
to provide lesson power you should be quite safe. But be warned. As we all
love winter holidays, homeworks seems to pile up and in reference to the
card game, it means we have to discard 3 lessons out. :( . But the good
thing is the opponent has to do the same and not discard "any" card other
than lesson cards. So the verdict is in.
Pros: Opponent discards 3 lesson cards from play.
Cons: You have to do the same.

This card is basically bad stuff. If I get up to 9 power, I do not want to
knock myself back down to 6 power. Just to do 3 lesson denial to my opponent
as well. This just reaks of bad times. I don't think I need to tell you that
this card is fairly weak and for 9 power you can do much much better.

Transfiguration has just about the only cards that allow specific discarding of
lessons. And those cards are usually steep in price as well. Losing 3 lessons can be
devistating, so the best time I would suggest to play this particular card is when
you've got backup power from Wands and such to help supply the power with as few lessons
as you can, that way you don't actually loose as much as your opponent would. =)

The artwork on this card is awesome. It captures the feeling of the movies
and it would make a "cool" poster! As for playing this card, it's not
worth it. It costs a power of nine to cast this card and you drop down six
and your opponent drops by three. There are a bunch of other cards that
pack a big punch compared to this "defensive" weakling. If this card
targeted Items providing lesson power as well then it would be a GREAT
card. This card would be good only to stop your opponent as they are about
to crush you. Three lessons lost are hard to make up right away so it
gives you some breathing room. Of course, you wouldn't be in that
predicament if you had better cards in your deck than Winter Holiday.
