The Chimaera is patterned in the same
mode as creatures like Cunning Fox and Black Bat. That is, creatures
that have a low health to compensate for their offensive agressiveness.
The problem here is that 4 power for 7 lessons isn't all that offensive.
Guard dog has the same cost, only one less power, and has a health
that is substantial enough that blue (charms) creature elimination
will have great difficulty sending it home. If you need that one
extra point of offense, I'd prefer to get one more lesson out and
plop down a Mountain Troll, which is out of range of a single Stream
of Flames. This guy is so weak that he can be done in by Fumos,
Toe Biter, and Doxy.

There is a breed of creatures with
heavy hitting and low health. This is in that category. The Chimaera
is a 7 power Mountain Troll with half the health. If you are into
working the 3 and 4 damage creatures hoping to unleash the power
of Hagrid, you may have found a nice fill in the blank card to support
the Guard Dog/Mountain Troll barrage. It all comes down to Speed
verses Power. Which creature path do you walk?

To me this thing sounds alot more
nastier then it is. For seven power we're talking 4 damage and two
health. The worse thing about this card is that two health. Not
good if you ask me. A toe bitter a stream of flames, or even a Doxy
could take this creature out before he even does alot of damage.
So you might ask, what would you use? Well my friend, I'll tell
you, for seven power, i'd use a guard dog, sure he only hits with
three damage, but the 5 health will make your opponent avoid him
and go after other creatures with those damage spells. Now if they
got incarcifors it won't matter one bit, but for now, lets assume
you can get away with it. I'd advise in using the guard dog, cause
chimaera will die much quicker.

Pretty simple creature. Cost as much
as a Gaurd Dog, but does more damage with less toughness. It's common,
so it could easily fit in any creature deck that needs a couple
more big creatures. The bad side, the fact that it can be taken
down with a Toe Biter.

Chimaera is weak for his required
power. If you are just going for damage, throw him on in, but if
you want your creatures to stick around, there are a lot of better
options. Guard Dog at seven does one less damage, but has 3 more
health whereas this guy dies from doxy bites. And let us not forget
abour the Welsh Green who hits for six and does six when he comes
out. You are just around the corner from eight, also! at eight,
ya got Mountain Troll, Fang, and Hebridean! If you are simply going
for high damage creatures, this one fits in, but i suggest you have
some early game damage or spells as well.
