Devil's Snare is an ok card, but since you have to discard a CoMC, I
wouldn't recommend using it. Its hard to kill with spell damage, but
mostly every deck has Transfiguration in it now, so they'll just use Picking
on Neville or Diffindo. But, the 6 health does make it almost impossible
to kill with Spell damage cards. If you're playing against a deck without
Transfiguration, and you get Snare out, there's a good chance it'll
stay out for the whole game. I would recommend using Cobra Lily instead, but if
you know your opponent is Trans-less, use this card.

Unless you are in to speed creature decks, this card is not a big
winner. With it costing you a lesson, and only doing 2-damage, the
6-(re-healing)-health, just doesn't seem that inviting to me. However,
if you combine it with and adventure, it might seem like not a bad choice. If
you do play a speed deck, the adventures you might want to add to a deck
that has Devil's Snare in it would be; 'Troll in the Bathroom,' 'Into the
Forbidden Forest,' 'Hagrid Needs Help,' 'Through the Arch,' and '4 Privet Drive.'

It's definatly not the best creature out there, but it can hold it's ground. Against Charms,
only Incendio could kill it in one shot (assuming they have 6 charms lessons in play). Transfiguration could kill it no problem, but
most people would save it until it became a real threat to them. So if you can play adventures that reduce the number of useable actions, or stop
spell cards, you could probably protect it long enough to keep it out there a while. The main bad part is the waste of 1 CoMC lesson that you
could probably use on something else that needs discarding. If you want something that has the same effect, try Cobra Lily to see how you like (no discard, 2 power more, 3 health less).

Devil's Snare hmmmmmmmmm.... havent even really thought about that card
in a while.... It's not a terrible card and hard to kill through damage and
it's low casting cost. It might fit in to some of my weenie decks. The
real drawback to this card is that it costs you a lesson. It's not a big
hitter at 2 damage, but as always, this adds up over time. But personally, i
would rather play with the good old Boa Constrictor or Quintaped or Cunning
Fox. Heck, while your at it, just play a bunch of Owls! Nowadays a LOT of
people only deal with direct creature removal (Trans) instead of damage. In
which case, it's special ability doesn't really help. I guess all in all,
Devil's Snare is an ok card, but there are a lot of better options out there in
my oppinion.
