Hannah Abbott in the base set was amazing. There was NO way to get rid
of characters! But, when Vanish and Diffindo showed up, back-up characters
took a HUGE drop. But, if you can get Abbott to work, she is awesome. Being
able to take two non-healing cards from your graveyard to hand for two in
hand is amazing. You can get two Steelclaw, two Bulgeye or even 2 Hebridian!
Combine this card with Hagrid and a creature deck with Steelclaw, and you can
get 75+ damage in one turn! Thats what every Base Set deck was based on.
Whoever got Hagrid/Hannah out first usually won the match!

Hannah may have seemed a bit judgmental in the books, but in the TCG, she's
a great friend to have. If you need to add just one more card in your deck,
Hannah is usually an easy choice. Anytime you can get 2 cards in your hand
from the discard pile without using an action seems invaluable. She is great
to have for that last second hit to put your opponent away. She is a
2-action play to get her out, so it is not exactly free, but the fact that
you can use her ability later in the game is nice. I like knowing that if I
went first in a game, playing her is like letting my opponent going first
and having insurance. Now that we have anti-character cards out there, the
risk of keeping her in play has increased, but she is still an excellent
last card choice if you have the room.

Hannah was planned on being in one of the Base Set PreConstructed Decks that never came out. =/
With the ability to make any two cards in your hand turn into something you've already used, no wonder they decided not to make it so easy to get. ;)
The restrictions would be you can't get Healing cards back, of course. But the plus side is Hannah doesn't count as a Healing card herself.
So playing multiple Hannahs with cards that let you discard one of your cards from play, lets Hannah Heal her clones back. (Hannah + Mid-air Collision to be precise, thou I've only thought of it working in theory.)
This is like an imporoved Flitwick (w/o the Charms power) that works in any deck. :)
