Hmmm..... Twelve lessons to get this bird out, and it doesn't even
damage my opponent? I'm ready to cry fowl here. On the positive
side, like Scabbers, it's rather difficult to remove for good. You'd
have to play a card that discards it from play, and then follow up
with another that does a hand discard. Personally, I'd just ignore
it. After all, if my opponent has the twelve lessons out needed to
get this card in play, then it's probable that I have a similar amount.
And I can assure you that stopping four damage a turn won't save
them, as I'll be doing considerably more than that. And if my deck
wins through card draw, such as a deck based on Venomous
Tentacular Juice, then my opponent's goose is cooked, if they are
relying on this card for defense. Whoever designed this card for
Harry Potter really laid an egg.

(profo) "Incase ya didn't notice, Fawkes was the closest thing I
found to a turkey bird, so we're gona eat em.. :P"
Naughty Naughty profo we don’t want eat our friend Fawkes not when he can
prevent damage for us and once he is in play he just keeps coming back over
and over. I’ve played him in a turbo wand shop creature deck and he is very
helpful. But otherwise he is a solid creature just very expensive.

Well Fawkes cost 12 power which is kinda expensive, but Fawkes also helps
you prevent 4 damage a turn which is really cool, especially if you can use
him in conjuction with all the other damage preventing tools. The best part
about Fawkes preventing 4 damage is that he doesn't take the damage, the damage
just magically disappears, kinda like how characters can't really take damage.
Wouldn't that be cool if characters did have damage counters and you could attack
them! Anyways, Fawkes has alot of potential, and I think he could be quite useful.

Hey look ma! It's a Scabbers with wings! *breaks out the silverware* ... HOT! Okey
okey, not the average Scabbers. Both are still unique, and can return to your hand,
but Fawkes can return during anyones turn, while Scabbers only comes back if discarded
during your opponent's turn. He doesn't "do" any damage, but he stops you from taking
some. Twelve CoMC is three times as much as the furry rat costs, so definatly way too
expensive, but I suppose they were trying to follow the book since it took so long for
the pheonix to shine at the end of the book. =)

This is definitely one BIG TURKEY and is definitely worth STUFFING into your
deck. His cost is somewhat excessive, but he always comes back for LEFTOVERS.
-4 damage a turn just makes me DROOL all over my MASHED POTATOES no matter
what your opponent is playing. The problem is getting him out OF THE OVEN in
time to make a difference in the game. 12 is quite a stretch for most decks.
A really neat combo with Fawkes though is.... Neville Longbottom and Potions
Dormitory. This way, Dormitory EATS the first four, Fawkes takes the SECOND
HELPING of four and Neville takes the rest. You simply ROLL through all the
damage your opponent is doing. Neat Combo! Happy Thanksgiving!!!
