Do I really need to do Hal Jordan’s origin? Blah blah blah, Abin Sur, blah
blah blah test-pilot, blah blah blah Green Ring, weak only against yellow.
You get it? This guy is the quintessential Green Lantern for most of us, we
call him the Silver Age GL for short. He’s a legend, and we’ve been waiting
for his Heroclix since the beginning of the game. Haven’t we? Yes we have.
Now, almost two years after the first DC set, we finally get our wish, Does
our favorite Green Lantern stack up? Absolutely. This is the MAN to build
teams around. I could go on gushing for paragraphs and paragraphs, but I’ll
just simply say, if you’re lucky enough to pull the rare Vet version, you
need to build a team around him. He’s easy to support too, one or two
perplexers, an outwitter, and a medic and you’re good to go.
And if you’re lucky and good enough to win the LE version available as this
month’s marquee tournament prizes, then you absolutely MUST play him on your
next constructed team. This piece is pretty much broken, but good thing,
he’s going to be extremely limited.
Now that Unleashed is available at retail, the number of auctions on Ebay
have increased several-fold. There are over 100 completed auctions for
various versions of Hal. A quick scanning of the prices shows that a set of
Hal Jordan REV’s has sold for as much as $21.99 (shipping included) and as
little as $5.00 (shipping included). Most of them were selling in the $12-14
range though. That’s awfully high for a brand new REV set. Shows how popular
our boy is.
Based on the message board traffic I’ve seen lately, I’d also rate the LE as
highly wanted at this point too. I’ll be willing to bet he starts out at
about $50 and reaches $100 within the month.
Anyway…check out these ratings
My ratings – playability first, then Collectability.
Rookie – 4,3
Exp – 4,4
Vet – 5,5
LE – 5,5
Next time – yet another heavy hitter.
