Pojo's HeroClix "Click of the Day"
WMNOE |
What happens when a S.T.A.R. Labs janitor messes
with something he shouldn’t be messing with? He gets exposed to some weird
radioactive waste and becomes a super-villain. That’s Parasite, plain and
simple. He’s a Superman villain of the first order, because he can suck the
powers away from any character, much like Rogue, though for him, it’s a
necessity.
Cost: 107. Health: 8 Clicks. Team: Anti-Superman
SSADD: 6/8/12/2. Powers: Leap/Climb, Poison (1 click), Steal Energy,
Impervious, Toughness.
Even though I’ve had this clix forever, I’ve never used him. I don’t think
he translates all that well to the game, since he has Shape Changing powers
in the comics that aren’t represented in miniature, and I have yet to see a
power that captures the stealing of another character’s powers very well.
Still, he’s not a BAD clix, he’s just not a great clix. For what you get I
feel he’s a tad too expensive.
Here’s a perfect example of what happens to Hypertime Uniques. Unless the
name is Batman or Superman, no one wants them anymore. Most everyone who
wants one has one. I pulled one out of a pack so long ago, I don’t even
remember doing it. You can currently grab him on line for under ten bucks,
and a lot of times, under five! In fact, one recent sale went for $1.95!

Parasite:
Ya know, this guy never got any recognition, but I always thought that there
was something to him. Seriously. Now, he isn't the greatest peice of all
time, but he can still be a nusience. Fly him and drop him next to a crowd
of people for his posin to do some hurting. That will either force them to
attack him (doing damage makes his nubers go up, and he gains stuff like
leap/climb, steal energy and impervious) or waste actions running away. Both
of these things can be good for you. But smart opponet's can figure a way
around him, so admidly he isn't that great. But he is fun. And this is a
game, after all.
100: N/A
200: Too expensive here.--- 1/5
300+: Fun, but won't get you anywhere.--- 1.75/5
Sealed Box: Is it just me, or do things double their usefulness whnever
sombody says "Sealed." Nice here.--- 3.5/5
The Bottom Line: 2/5 |

Today,
we review one of the worst uniques there is: Parasite.
Cost: 107 pts.
TA: Superman Enemy
Range: 0
Clix of Life: 7
Speed: starts at 6, gains Leap Climb on second click and jeeps it for rest
of dial
Attack: starts at 8 with Poison, rises to 10 and gains Steal Energy on
second click and keeps it for rest of dial
Defense: starts at 12, rises to 15 with Impervious, then 14 with Toughness
Damage: starts at 2, goes up to 3, then back down to 2.
To put it plain and simple, Parasite is overcosted by at least 30 points, if
not more. The first click of Poison isn't very good because his stats are
too low and he will get hit before poison goes into effect. He'll probably
get smacked right past the Impervious and Toughness clicks too, so you'll
have to use Steal Energy to get back to it. The problem is, his attack value
is too low at that point. The only bright side is if you have another
Superman Enemy adjacent to him, Parasite gains Outwit. His Leap/Climb isn't
that bad either but he is just too many points to put into a figure that
isn't going to do a lot.
Ratings:
200: 1/5
300: 1/5
400+: 2/5(Better cuz you can taxi him where needs to use poison.
Sealed: 2.5/5(only because of that click of Impervious) |

Powers:
Poison, L/C, and Steal Energy
Team: SuperMan Enemy
Cost: 107
I don't know anything about this guy's background, but I think Parasite got
jipped. The way this whole dial is set up will not help anyone. The Steal
Energy is placed on the powerful clicks, while the one good thing about this
whole stupid dial (don't get me wrong, 3 damage isn't bad) is that the
Poison is on his first click, the powerless one! In other words, you have to
send this guy into the thick of battle without any defensive powers, base
someone, attack and push, and rest. All without getting him killed. I don't
know about you, but my clicks get hurt just trying to get to their location,
especially in the thick of things. No. Parasite isn't worth it. If you have
him, trade some poor sucker for Medusa. That's how bad this guy is: you can
get a Medusa in return and STILL be ripping off the other guy.
