Today we
are going to review Legacy’s Joker
The
Joker….seriously I think you know who the Joker is.
Cost and Abilities:
Rookie;
72 points, 4 range with 1 target, 6 clicks of life.
Exp; 85
Points, 6 range with two targets, 6 clicks of life.
Member of the Injustice League
Vet; 100
Points, 6 range with two targets, 7 clicks of life.
LE; 26
points, 6 range with 1 target, 4 clicks of life
OVERVIEW:
The Joker is a complete crap shoot to review. All
his stats are random in the REV versions. His LE
version is a very cheap and effective enhancement
piece. He has stealth and for the heck of it
mastermind. So for 26 points and a 2 point Pog you
have an enhancement piece that nobody will ever
bother to kill. The LE version gets a separate
ranking later on.
The
Legacy Joker is definitely the most accurate version
they have ever come up with. It is how the Joker
is, very accurate and unpredictable. But is this a
good thing for you the fellow heroclix player?
There are two thoughts on this, the optimistic view
and the pessimistic view.
Optimistic
The Joker is hard to strategize against. His
opening click is very hard to hit on any of the
versions. You don’t want to get close, because he
will gain blades claws or poison. But if you don’t
base up, he might incapacitate two of your
characters each turn. If you hit him, you might put
him on the click that gives him the ability that
will wreck you.
Pessimistic:
You are spending around 100 points for a character that has not
even one all around good click. If he hits for a
lot, then he has no defense. If he has 18 defense,
he hits for 2. How do you plan your attack? You
might waste movements getting him based with an
opponent so you can exploit weakness, then your
opponent hits you for 3 clicks and all you have now
is energy explosion and a 7 to attack with a 1 in
damage. Bottom line, the Joker is a pure luck
character.
Sculpt:
This is the Joker look I have been waiting for. A +
How to Beat Him: Either ignore him until he bases you, because most of his first
clix are really weak. You can also hit him from far
away, like 8 squares. But just hit him hard with
two characters and he is gone and you have just one
yourself 100 points. Don’t let your opponent enjoy
those interesting clix that might give him what he
needs to beat you. Just destroy him.
How to Play Him: I suppose if you are playing him in competition he will have to
be your hard bait. Set him out as a target your
opponent will have to attack. When your opponent
goes for the easy points spring your trap and hit
them with everything you got. Or you could just
hope to get lucky.
LE: The
Red Hood is interesting and I love when an LE is
completely different then the normal figure, but
enhancement is just not that good. Sure it okay,
but Red Hood won’t hit too much when he only has a 7
attack. So all you can use him for is to add on
damage to a range attack and if that is what you are
doing use Contact with Oracle. That feat is both
cheaper and is a lot more versatile.
Overall Score:

LE:

5/5 For
FUN. I love to play with him…just not in tourments.
