In this occasion we have Wonder
Woman, from Icons. Yes, we get yet another
version of her. The previous version of her were all
decent, playable
characters. Let’s see about this one:
Rookie 84points, No TA, No range, 8 clicks of
health.
Exp. 109points, JLA TA, No range, 9 clicks of
health.
Vet. 127points, JLA TA, No range, 10clicks of health
All flyers.
Normally I’d do the vet. I like veterans better, as
they are the most
powerful part of every figure, but given that the
tree are playable (that’s
unusual), and the fact that I’m confident that Scott
will do the vet., I’ll
go with the rookie:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 6, 6. Charge the 1st and
2nd, and that’s it.
Attack: 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7. Super Strength from
the 1st to the 5th
click, followed by 2 of Incapacitate, and that’s it.
Defense: 16, 16, 15, 15, 15, 14, 14, 13. 1st is
Invulnerability, then
Toughness up to the 5th and finished with 3 of
Willpower.
Damage: 4, 4, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2. No powers.
Analysis: Her defense values and powers aren’t
spectaculars, but neither are
them sucky. With Probability Control or ICWO, or
maybe just trying to keep
her on hindering terrain, she’ll be ok. The same
goes for her attack, it’s
just a little bit low… Her speed is nothing
impressive but, again, it
doesn’t suck and that Charge will be useful.
Finally, the damage… it’s not
the BEST EVER, but it’s certainly high. Now, if you
see this character, you
might think “is it worth it to put her on a team?”
probably not. But add
ICWO, Unstoppable, Haymaker, throw Deep Shadows and
be sure to have Perplex
on your team and maybe some Probability Control, and
she’s a very neat
character to play, and a monster as a secondary
attacker in 500 points team.
Conclusion: I think I’ve said everything above.
Ranking:
100 – 1.5/5 It’s not 1 because they may never get to
hit him :P
200 – 2.5/5 With some support, why not make her you
1st attacker?
300 – 3/5 Just splash ICWO and let her wreck havoc.
400+ – 3.5/5.

Review: Alright, today we got ourselves the most beautiful
Lynda Carter who spun around to turn into Wonder Woman and
fight the forces of evil. Well, maybe not, but if you don't
know who this is, you've been living in a cave.
Now Wonder Woman has quite a few good things going for her.
Charge is good. Super Strength is good. Charge and Super
Strength is really good. Now you want to add in a whopping 5
base damage? Incredible. And she flies. And she moves for
free. Her point value likewise is incredible. 109 points for
a base 5 damage? I would like to point out that the next
cheapest figure to have 5 damage is Darkseid with 141 points
and you don't need to push to get hers either.
Now the bad side of things. She's not really to brick status
as her attack and defense stats are not too high, and with
only 3 clicks between imperv and invul a solid shot will
drop her to Toughness and that much easier to hit. The
incapicitate should be good, but without range you aren't
doing much. Willpower is likewise meh, and generally you
won't be able to get to use it.
Feats to use: Rip it Up can be great with her, to boost up
the damage, as well as Large Object to give her a boost to
her otherwise lackluster attack.
Divebomb, one of the new feats, I don't really recommend
with her as you're dropping 2 attack for being able to
attack from soaring.
The Ratings (for the vet only)
200 points: 2/5 (A little rentsy for the point value)
300 points: 3.25/5 (Solid here)
400 points: 2.75/5 (You're going to see some big guns she
won't be able to keep up with)
500+ points: 2.5/5 (See 400 point comments)
