Today we
are going to review the R/E/V and LE of Green Goblin
from the Fantastic Forces Set
Don’t
know who the Green Goblin is? Before I answer who
he is I have a question for you. How did you get a
computer under that rock you’ve been living under?
The Green Goblin is…..you know what? Just rent
Spiderman the movie.
Cost
and Abilities:
Rookie =
80 Points, 7 clicks of life, 6 range with 2 targets,
no team ability
Experienced = 103 Points, 8 clicks of life, 6 range
with 2 targets, no Team Ability
Veteran =
119 Points, 9 clicks of life, 8 range with 2
targets, no Team Ability
LE = 99
Points, 8 clicks of life, 8 range with 2 targets, no
Team Ability
Which is best? The spike of nearly 20 points between each version is
ridiculous. The bottom line is the rookie and
experienced have way to short of range. A 6 is
horrible for 100 points. So it has to be the
veteran. But wait, the LE has the same range a
higher damage value and is 20 points less. Similar
to the rest of this set, the LE is the superior
piece.
Movement:
10 with Running Shot for his first two clicks.
Attack:
11 with nothing for the first click, but after that
he has energy explosion and finishes it out with
incapacitate. Both abilities he is allowed to
double target with.
Defense:
This is his tricky point. He has willpower (which
is optional) for his first click, then he has
toughness, then willpower, then toughness and
finally willpower again. His defense is a low,
but understandable for his character at 16. More
then likely he will never see those toughness clicks
and hit get past them, based on how he is set up.
Damage:
4, 3 then 2 for the rest of the dial. He has
outwit for 2 clicks in the middle of his dial.
Sculpt:
Finally a non retarded looking green goblin, half
the reason to play him is because of his sculpt.
Team Ability:
None.
Feats:
Armor Piercing is a must if you plan on using his
energy explosion much. In Contact is always an
option and never a bad one if you have the points
available.
Battle Field Condition
Nothing
suits him really well. Bright lights might be nice
so you can see your opponents.
How to Beat Him: He has a glass jaw. Hit him with your third string attacker to
get him out of his first two clicks and then almost
anybody can take him.
How to Play Him: After checking with a judge enchantment works with energy
explosion. So you can energy explosion and entire
troop for 2 damage each if you are carrying a Red
Hood or a veteran U-man. This will also help him
hit for more through out his entire dial. If you
need to get him on that energy explosion push him
and choose to turn off willpower.
Overview:
I want to say he’s awesome and you’ll see him at
many tournaments. You may see him at tournaments,
but he is not awesome. I like willpower, with
running shot and a 4 attack, but he needs a bigger
range for the price. He has a glass jaw, combined
with a low defense and nothing that can cause an
opponent to miss or reduce damage. Willpower is
great, but you need that really high defense to
cause an opponent to miss.
Overall Score:
2/5 300 Points
3/400 Points
3/500 Points
