Today we
are going to review the POG Alicia Masters
A WORD ON
POGS: (same as last reviews) personally hate the
Pogs. I dislike the idea that they can be used in
competitive play to tie up figures or hide behind
with trick shot. Nubula with 10 Aunt May Pogs and
trick shot, pretty much can not be killed. The Fact
that a veteran Superman needs to “break away” from
Iris West-Allen seems ridiculous to me. I love
getting that something extra in the pack and I love
the idea of doing a “save Aunt May” scenario, but if
we are taking competitive tournament, the Pogs can
be way too abused. I hate playing with them, but I
do when I really want to win.
Cost and Abilities:
POG = 5
Points, 1 clicks of life, Fantastic Four Team
Ability.
Movement:
5 in movement. You just want her to die, so she could move 1
for all it mattered.
Attack:
4. She is as weak as Aunt May…funny.
Defense:
10. 10 perfect, kill her. Kill her. Go ahead, I
dare ya!
Damage:
0. But if you perplex her three times, she hits for
3!
Sculpt:
What sculpt? Stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid,
stupid, stupid Pog!
Team Ability:
Fantastic Four team ability. This says if she dies,
all Fantastic Four figures gain a click of healing,
plus all your wildcards will gain the click as well.
Overview:
She is my favorite POG. She has a very good
ability, but not so good it will make you wanna kill
yourself. One click of healing given to many
characters is great. Plus if she stays around for a
while and a wild card dies the rest will heal. She
is just plain good strategy to play.
How to Beat Her: You can’t. Kill her early is the best thing you can do.
How to Play Her:
Somebody
pulled this on me and it hosed me so bad I have to
tell you. He had 2 Mary Jane Pogs and One Alicia
Masters. The rest were wild cards. He then played
Earthquake. He rolled it during the first turn.
His turn. My team was almost all dead. He killed
me, before I started. His team all took three
clicks, and then was all healed three clicks from
dead Pogs. Needless to say, I was the big loser.
Overall Score:
300 Point Games 4/5
400 Point Games 4/5
500 Point Games 4/5
Fun Games 2/5 (I love that earthquake thing.)
