Lex Luthor
This week’s figures have been picked by me. The
theme: not so cool figures
of cool characters, and today we star with Cosmic
Justice’s Lex Luthor.
Wizkids says that this version of good ol’ Lex is
from the Rock of Ages
storyline, and therefore he has some powers unusual
for him, but… which
ones? I mean, it can’t be Leadership, as Lex
commands a lot of people (he’s
the boss of Lexcorp, isn’t he?)… it can’t be Outwit,
nor Perplex… after all,
it’s Lex Luthor we are talking about! That leaves us
Mastermind… and again,
isn’t he a Mastermind of crime? Much more than the
Joker, or Riddler (and
they don’t seem to think that Mastermind is unfit
for them….) So, I’m still
looking very carefully at the dial, maybe I’m
missing something :P Ok, now
seriously, onto the character: He’s 69 points
Unique, a Super Enemy (of
course!), No range, 1 target, and:
Stats:
Speed: 6, 5, 5, 4, 4. No powers.
Attack: 7, 6, 6, 5, 5. No powers.
Defense: 13, 13, 12, 12, 11. Full dial of
Mastermind.
Damage: 1, 1, 1, 2, 2. Starts with Leadership, then
follow 2 of Perplex and
finishes with 2 of Outwit.
Analysis: Well, clearly this guy is completely
unplayable, and here’s why:
With those numbers and without range, he’s obviously
not meant to fight.
That takes us to the powers: Leadership has never
been an important power,
at least to me… if you want it, just use a figure
that’s fighting capable
and has it… or a cheaper, more useful one (Silver
Sable comes to mind….)
That just leaves Perplex and Outwit. Forget about
them, you’d have to push
for the Perplex… but then, why wouldn’t you just use
DEO Agent or Con Artist
instead?? And if you’re planning to push 3 TIMES for
the Outwit and at that
point cost…. better go with R BlackPanther. The only
place for this guy in a
game is in one against Galactus, and with Brilliant
Tactician. There it
would be worth it… maybe
Conclusion: Do I really need to say anything else?
There is alot of new figures out there, but alot of
the mail I get is about old figures. So this is
classic figures week here on POJO. I hope you enjoy
Today we'll be reviewing Lex Luthor from

POINTS
ˇ
To start he is incapable of attacking anything that
is not a pog
ˇ
He is very much like Oracle, but without the card
ability.
ˇ
Nearly 70 points and he starts with leadership
ˇ
Outwit and Mastermind are good together.
ˇ
You;d have to push 3 times to get to the outwit
ˇ
Anti-Superman team ability is one of the best team
abilities
OVERALL
Luthor is truely one of the worst clix
ever made. He's massively massively over costed in
points. He's probably at least 40 points too much.
Even at 30 points he'd still barely be worth it.
Not even on the theme teams of theme teams can
Lex see action. He's just competely reversed with
powers, outwit needs to be first! GAH! At least
they made a better one in Icons!
0 out of 5 thumbs up
Good, bad, I'm the guy with the clix.
