Today we'll be reviewing Raven from Icons
Ah yes the Teen Titans. Lead by Robin. Doesn’t Robin
already have a lot on his plate? Where is that boys
parents! Oh…oh yeah…they’re dead. My bad.
What? Too soon to joke about it?
I was reading up on her profile and apparently a
character named Wildebeest killed her. That’s rough.
Raven is such a great name and Wildebeest is just
deeply retarded…I’d feel dumb being offed by him.
I read all my character profiles on http://hometown.aol.com/thefightingfury/whoclix/guide.htm
It’s a great site.
Rookie: 54, Teen Titans, 5 Clicks, 8 range with a
single target
Experienced: 68 points, Teen Titans, 6 Clicks, 8
range with a single target
Veteran: 73 points, Teen Titans, 6 Clicks, (and
STILL) 8 range with a single target
WHICH IS BETTER?: This is like picking a
presidential candidate. All options look bleak and
you have to figure out the lesser of the evils. I’ll
just say the Veteran, because she has the mighty
NINE attack as apposed to the others 8 attacks. The
sort of winner: Veteran
MOVEMENT: 10 with phasing through the entire dial.
ATTACK: 9,8,8,8,8,7 She has incapacitate at the
beginning. But she has only one target with it.
DEFENSE: (16,15,15 with barrier),15,(14,14 with
regeneration)
DAMAGE: Wowzers! (2,2 probability control),(1,1,1,1
with support)
SCULPT: I do like how high the cape is and I always
think different color versions of characters are
very cool. The sculpt is by far the best part.
OVERALL: Just….so…so much bad here. Gack!
• For 73 points she is only 6 clicks deep
• For 73 points she has only a 9 attack and only has
that for a single click until dropping to 8.
• For 73 points you could get a Destiny, a Medic, a
Veteran Havok and still have left over points for
Pogs
• She has prob control, but will have to use it to
reroll her own attacks
• She has support, but will probably have to
regenerate herself
• She has barrier, but will need to use it to hide
her low defense
• Phasing does not help you run and shoot in the
same turn
• Incapacitate is generally only good if you can use
it to hit two people or more
• She may be good in draft, because of her rare
abilities in this Icons set.
• But she will still not be TOO good in draft.
She is basically unplayable. She is a combo of
several support characters, but at the same time she
has to use all of her abilities to help herself out.
You can not spend 73 points in most type of games on
a figure that is not capable of doing a little
damage. Raven herself needs support just to live.
She has a really short dial, can not run and shoot,
can not carry without a feat card, can not survive
most attacks due to her low defense and can not
attack due to her low attack. Sure her first click
is barely okay. 9 attack and 16 defense are okay
values for a figure that is half her points. Raven
really misses the mark here. No wonder Wildebeest
killed her.
SHE RECEIVES A Half a thumb OUT OF A POSSIBLE 5
THUMBS UP!
Good, Bad, I’m the Guy with the Clix

Continuing with my picks, today is
the turn for Raven. Now I will say a few
words about the Titans. Finally, we can create
competitive teams (or nearly
competitive?) after two base sets and three
expansions… Wizkids, you really
have to make some more Titans, but, more
importantly, BETTER. I get it you
can’t make each single figure a beast… but at least,
if you are gonna re-do
somebody, do them better and playable! In this set
we get a Unique Cyborg
that it’s worse than the R/E/V… similar is what
happens with
Changeling/Beast Boy, as this R/E/V and Unique are
better than the R/E/V
from Hypertime, but it’s still not very good. Of
course, not everything is
like that. In fact, for Friday we’ll be doing maybe
the best Titan ever…
Stats:
Speed: 10, 10, 8, 8, 7, 7. Full dial of Phasing.
Attack: 9, 8, 8, 8, 8, 7. Incapacitate the 4 first
clicks
Defense: 16, 16, 15, 15, 14, 14. Barrier for the
1st, 2nd and 3rd,
Regeneration the last 2.
Damage: 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1. 2 clicks of Probability
Control, then Support the
rest of the dial.
Analysis: Well, decent values on the speed
department, and with Phasing she
can go anywhere, and run to a medic if needed, too.
About the attack, the
values are just low for a 73 point character. She
offers some Incapacitate,
which with an 8 range seems nice, but it’s affected
by the low attack and
the fact that she only can target 1 opponent :S. As
for the defense, ok
values (could be a little higher, considering the
lack of damage reducing
powers) and with Barrier, which can be very helpful.
Later on she gains
Regeneration, which can leave her on her first click
(that doesn’t happen
with most heroclix, and it’s due to her short dial).
The damage is low, but
she has 2 clicks of Probability Control, which
excellent, and if she gets
past those clicks, she can heal others with Support.
Conclusion: I can’t believe it. She’s not a flyer…
AGAIN. Even the sculpt is
not so good, considering what they are capable of
nowadays. And her dial is
almost the same, and she just costs 8 points
cheaper. She can be good on a
500 point team. Maybe even for 400. But she can’t be
in a competitive 300
points. Barrier and Probability Control are cool.
Getting later Support and
Regeneration to heal back to the best clicks is
cool. But for the cost, the
attack values are too low, and that means she can’t
help you not even with
Incapacitate.

300 – 2/5 I advice against it.
