Today we'll be reviewing Lex Luthor from
Icons
When I was growing up I always did root for Luthor.
I think he’s one of the more respectable villains.
He’s really just a smart man, no real powers. Most
of the time Lex Luthor believes in what he is doing
and doesn’t like that an Alien should not be viewed
as a savoir. I’m sorry, Superman, but I’d like to
see Luthor win even if it’s in a parallel universe
and just once.
Just let the rabbit have one bowl of Trix!
Unique:
212, Anti Superman Team, 8 range/1 target. 9 clicks
of life Flyer.
MOVEMENT:
12 running shot, then 10 charge. Nothing after
that.
ATTACK:
11,11,10,10,9,9,8,8,7 all with super strength
DEFENSE:
18 with impervious, (17,17,16 with invulnerability),
toughness with gradually declining defense for the
rest.
DAMAGE:
5,5,4,4,4,4,3,3,3,2
SCULPT:
Reminds me of the classic 80’s super friends version
of Luthor.
OVERALL:
Very nice
opening click. High attack, defense and damage.
ONLY 9
clicks???? If they’re over 200 points they
should automatically have 11 clicks.
Will not defeat
veteran Superman
The team ability
is pointless or close too it. Hyper time with
it’s cheap Anti-Superman characters are rotating
out as are the cheap non flying wildcards. So
it’s hard to use that ability to get an actual
outwit.
He’ll nearly
always be dangerous with a decent attack and a
high damage
He needs a move
and shoot ability after the first two clicks.
He needs to
start with a higher attack
By far the most
playable version of Lex Luthor.
Will work great
in 5,000 point games where you can not use the
same figure twice.
I looked at Luthor for quite a while. I kept trying
to make him good. Thinking of feats and conditions
and point values that would make him really work.
His starting click is very good, but any balanced
team will hit him off of it quickly. Thor and KC
Supes are good, because if you CAN hit them, they’re
still devastating. Luthor starts devastating and
could definitely take out one character, but then
everyone else will have a shot at him. Then he will
go down faster then a POG on Ares.
HE RECEIVES A 1.5 OUT OF A POSSIBLE 5
THUMBS UP!
Good, Bad, I’m the Guy with the
Clix

Review: I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Luthor in
his battle suit and what we get is a brick. Granted its a
flying brick, but a brick and a bruiser nonetheless. He's
starts off with some running shot then follows it with a
charge click. The standard damage reducers are here, and the
damage is outstanding. Also the TA isn't half bad. Combine
him with a Mary-Jane POG and you just gave him outwit.
Now here's the bad side of things. First off, his movement
is crap. The move and attack is not deep enough and a single
shot to him will probably knock him out of it. After those
initial two clicks, he's one big target. The defense power
is also too shallow to be much good with only one click of
imperv. Finally the high defense values screw over in the
end with making a hard number for your healers to hit.
Overall he's too many points for not enough. I understand
the fact that his original click sucked in that it wasn't an
attacker or a cost effective support piece but this isn't
the answer.
Feats to use: Rip it up, Large Object are your main choices.
