Dario
Today we have, from Icons, a Unique…
Ra’s al Ghul. He has 8 clicks of
health, and a 6 range with one target; and obviously
he’s a Bat-hatter. He
comes in at 79 points, so he should be a secondary
attacker… is he any good,
unlike his Legacy version? Let’s find out:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 6, 6, 6. Stealth for the 1st
click
Attack: 11, 10, 10, 9, 9, 8, 8, 7. Stars with 3 of
B/C/F, and then has
Incapacitate for the last 3.
Defense: 17, 16, 16, 15, 15, 14, 14, 13. Starts with
2 of Energy S/D, then
follows 4 of Willpower and ends with 2 of
Regeneration.
Damage: 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1. Starts with 2 of
Leadership, then 2 of
Perplex, then 2 of Outwit, and finished with 2 of
Battle Fury.
Analysis: Well, we start badly already: his movement
part of the dial leaves
a lot to be desired. Only one click of Stealth won’t
do much for me,
specially when he can only inflict 2 damage (and at
a 6 range). As for his
attack, his values are not bad, but Incapacitate
with a 6 range and only 1
target is definitely not good; Blades is nice… but
not on a guy that’s meant
to attack from far (Enery Shield/Deflection,
Stealth….). Not much to
complain about in the defense department: decent
values, and good powers, in
the right order… not much to mention there. Finally,
the damage… it’s low…
it’s understandable, since Ra’s is just a strong
human… but you can only
ignore that low damage for the first 3 clicks
(Blades) after that, even
Outwith and Perplex aren good enough… and also,
that: his starting
Leadership makes sense (he’s the leader of the
League Of Assasins), but it’s
pretty crappy having it at the beginning, as Outwit
or Perplex would’ve much
better…
Conclusion: He is close to being good… but just
that… maybe fans will try
him out on competitive teams, or maybe he’ll be on
some themed teams… as for
casual teams, knock yourself out and see if you like
him… but…
