Today we'll be reviewing Jack O’ Lantern from
Sinister
MARVEL MARKETER # 1: How can we rearrange Green
Goblin so he looks even cooler.
MARVEL MARKETER # 2: I know, let’s put the
pumpkin bomb on his head and have him fly around on
a circular astro-glider.
MARVEL MARKETER # 1: No, I said cooler, not
retarded.
Rookie: 32 points, Sinister Syndicate Team
Experienced: 57 points, No Team
Veteran: 62 points, No Team
Who is the Best:
Of course the one most playable does not have a team
ability. The Rookie is tempting on a wildcard team
that needs Sinister Syndicate and somebody carried.
I refuse to do the Experienced, since he has Running
Shot on his second click. Grrr…. I really hate
that. I reluctantly choose the Veteran.
Winner: Veteran
MOVEMENT:
8 movement with Running Shot is not too bad for
draft. His 6 range and single target Energy
Explosion is disappointing.
ATTACK:
9 attack is disappointing at best and keeps him out
of the secondary attack slot and into the third
string attacker spot. Energy Explosion and
Incapacitate
with a single target are just wasted. His attack
drops fast.
DEFENSE:
16 with Super Senses means people will not attack
him for fear of just completely missing. If he
takes damage he’ll probably be hit for only a
little, and that might put him on that nice
defensive spike.
DAMAGE:
3 damage is not too bad for his points. His Range
Combat Expert after he loses Running Shot will keep
him dangerous.
SCULPT:
I do love his flaming pumpkin head. He’s like a
better version of the Green Goblin.
feats:
In contact might be worth it to get him to a 10
attack. Other than that I would let him stay at a
low point cost.
OVERALL:
No Team
Low Range with a single target
Nothing stands out special at all
Nice defensive spike placement
As generic as modern rap
He’s not a terrible figure for draft, but even for
draft there is a lot better uses of your points. I
can not think of one really great reason to use
him. He’s vanilla all the way through the dial and
is probably at least 10 points over costed. He’s
not even the best guy with a flaming pumpkin looking
head, Dormammu wins that race.
HE RECEIVES 1.5 OUT OF A POSSIBLE 5
THUMBS UP!
Good, Bad, I’m the Guy with the Clix

WARNING Fun FACt ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING:
In October 1999, the world's
population reached
6,000,000,000, which is double that of
the year 1960.
The world's population is increasing
at the rate of about
90,000,000 per year.
The current world population is 6,527,543,165
(060701).
That’s a lot of people to be using
the world energy.
First of the week for me to give you the old standard….Whoclix.
The best of the three is the
Veteran.
He is 62 points, has 6 range
1 target, 6 clicks of life, a flier, and no team
Speed: 8,8,9,8,8,7 Running Shot first two
Attack: 9,8,8,8,7,7 Energy Explosion first 4,
Incapacitate last two
Defense: 16,15,17,16,15,14 Super Senses first
two, Toughness next 2
Damage: 3,2,1,1,0,1 RCE clicks 3-5
The Good: Running shot with 3 damage is always good
Super Senses helps
keep him around
Can do some good
damage throughout his dial
Toughness could keep
him around since no brick will bother with him
The Bad: Kinda low defense (he’s not even a 9/17
character)
Incap and EE are
terrible with 1 target
Who would ever use him
over Vet Bullseye?
Feats: Nanobots works good, that is all I would
use, but I wouldn’t use him
Overall: Here is a first click character who just
doesn’t have enough options to stick around for the long
run. I am not a fan of this piece, will never use him, and
cringe every time I pull him from a booster (so far have 5
rookies and that’s it). My advice; use Bullseye.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 2 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 2.5/ 5
Overall: 2 / 5

Jack O' Lantern
Reviewed By Insane Ewok
Another day, another review... This time we got Jack
O' Lantern, He's a pumpkin, so he better be totally
badass
WhoClix Bio:
Mercenary Steven Levins first encountered Captain
America when he was investigating the Skull House,
the lair of the Red Skull. Levins was recruited into
the Skeleton Crew but was defeated and sent to the
Vault. Jack O' Lantern escaped and took part in
several schemes including trying to steal the
skeleton of the Scarlet Spider and working for the
Maggia. Like all the Jack O' Lanterns before him,
Levins uses concussion and smoke grenades, wrist
blasters, asphyxiating "ghost-grabbers", kevlar
armor with flaming helmet and bouncing Pogo Pad.

VETERAN JACK O' LANTERN SCORES
3.5 Out Of 5
Not too bad, Hobgoblin and him are gonna take lead
of my pumpkin theme team
"Girls Like Guys With Big Clicks"

IS IT JUST ME OR...
Does nobody read my reviews :(
Rurouni KJS
Armed with his mighty Pogo-Platform,
Jack O'Lantern folded like wet tissue against
Spider-Man.
Rookie Jack O'Lantern
wing speed
32 points
Team: Sinister Syndicate
Range: 4 x 1
Powers and analysis:
Click 1: Smoke Cloud and Range Combat Expert Click
2-3: Energy Explosion Click 4: Energy Explosion and
Close Combat Expert Last click: Smoke Cloud and CCE
Without his team ability, Jack's useless. As his AV
starts mediocre and stays steady, if you ever field
him you NEED him taxi around a teammate to do his
aiming for him. Beyond that, he's pure tie-up
fodder.
Feats:
None are worth the points you'll give your opponent.
So don't use 'em.
Themes:
If there were an encyclopedia entry for Crappy
Spidey Villains, his picture would be one of them.
Use him on such teams.
Comic accurate?
Yes. In his first clash with Spider-Man, the hero
took him down like a flag at the end of the day.
(Matter of fact, Spidey actually USED a flagpole to
end that fight. He should have Toughness, though.)
In sum:
Crap stats. Crap powers. Decent TA. Low cost.
Rating: 1.5/5
Experienced Jack O'Lantern
wing speed
51 points
Team: none
Range: 6 x 1
Powers and analysis:
Click 1: Energy Explosion, Super Senses, RCE Click
2: Running Shot, EE, Toughness, RCE Click 3: Running
Shot, EE, Toughness Click 4-5: Stealth, Smoke Cloud,
Close Combat Expert
With all these powers, this looks like an
improvement over the Rookie. But no TA is a blow,
meaning he'll have to pull his own weight. And with
no truly good click on a short dial, that's gonna be
tough for ol'
Jacko here. The good news is that none of those
clicks completely blow putrid chunks like the
Rookie's whole dial does. In particular, the
end-dial
Stealth+Smoke+CCE combo might prevent his point cost
from being a gimme to your opponent.
Feats:
For only 5 points, if you have the room, FLASHBANG
might be a nice bit of insurance against Jacko being
a too-easy KO.
Themes:
See Rookie.
Comic accurate?
I don't recall Jack ever being quite this competent.
This may actually reflect the start of his career as
one of the Hobgoblins.
In sum:
At 5-10 points cheaper, he'd be pretty good. As he
is, he's just a touch better than mediocre thanks to
some decent power combos.
Rating: 1.5/5 Shame about the TA, though. Cost him a
half-point.
Veteran Jack O'Lantern
wing speed
62 points
Team: none
Range: 6 x 1
Front-loaded Running Shot is a huge upgrade, though
the attack value isn't. Mid-dial RCE isn't bad
either, but it's really all about the defensive
spike -- there's a rude surprise for opponents after
getting past his Super Senses. His last two clicks
are pretty lame, though
Feats:
He's right at the edge of being overcosted, IMO.
Don't make him any more points than needed, since no
feats really cry out to be used on him.
Themes:
Same as above.
Comic accurate?
I REALLY don't recall Jack being this competent.
In sum:
Vet Jack can be used effectively as a 3rd-string
fighter on a big force, where his point cost isn't a
bit deal.
