Powers and analysis:
1: Leap/Climb, Blades/Claws/Fangs, Energy
Shield/Deflection
2: Charge, Energy Shield/Deflection
3: Charge, Combat Reflexes, Close Combat Expert
4: Charge, Blades/Claws/Fangs, Combat Reflexes
5: Blades/Claws/Fangs, Combat Reflexes
6: Flurry
7: Flurry
No team ability or range allows 40 points to buy
some good capabilities. Through a surprisingly deep
dial, the lord of the Savage Land can tangle with
figures way out of his weight class while being
difficult to deal with in turn. His defense is
especially stellar.
Feats:
HEIGHTENED REFLEXES can make Ka-Zar last even longer
on the field.
Themes:
Ka_Zar's mostly a solo act, so any themes will be
more or less jury-rigged.
Comic accurate?
He's a little nimbler than I'd have considered him.
And where's the sculpt of his constant companion,
the sabertoothed tiger Zabu?
In sum:
A cheap tie-up figure that can fight as well as a
character twice his point cost. One of the most
cost-effective dials in the game.

Today's review is Ka-Zar
from Sinister
Everyone’s favorite savage
man from the Savage Land with a pet saber tooth tiger comes
to us in clix form.
He is a Unique, 40 points, 0
range, 7 clicks of life, and no team
Speed: 9,8,8,6,7,6,5 Leap/Climb for one, Charge for
3, Flurry for 2 at the end
Attack: 9,9,10,8,8,7,7 BCF for the first and clicks
4-5
Defense: 17,16,15,15,16,16,17 ESD for two, Combat
Reflexes for 3
Damage: 2,2,1,2,2,1,1 CCE clicks 3
The Good: Very high defense throughout
Lots of movement powers
Decent attack values
The Bad: Move and shoot after first click annoys me
ESD with Charge and BCF
is stupid
Should be Charge and BCF
Hard to heal
Low attack up front irks
me
Charge and CCE does not
work together
Cannot do a lot of damage
Feats: The value he has comes from the low cost, so
I would not use any
Overall: Not much here, he is a cheap secondary
attacker who works best blocking a more important piece from
ranged attack. If they come in for close combat, they have
to fight against BCF. He is not amazing, but not terrible,
more middle of the road. Some of the power combinations
don’t work and the flurry comes when you are not going to be
hitting or doing damage. For the points, DR Cyclops, Havok,
or Spymaster are much better attackers.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 2 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 2.5 / 5 (high def is almost impossible to hit
for this set)
Overall: 2 / 5
