Speed: Charge…followed….by HSS…..sigh. At least
phasing is at the end to run away, high numbers too
Attack: Alright values…nothing wowing me
Defense: Just cant ever have the 18 up front
Damage: not great, charge and CCE do not work
The Good: He gets HSS

The Bad: Basically a push click character

Feats: Protected is a must, if you time it right
you can push click onto his second click, ICWO helps
too…like it does everyone. Nanobots works good too.
Overall: Man, this dial is out of wack. His
numbers are at the worst spots and his powers aren’t even in
the best spots. The combinations aren’t bad outside of the
CCE and Charge…if it was at the end of his dial he would be
dangerous the whole time. The HSS comes with a not so great
attack, and the most that gives him so potential with that
big range. There is a problem too, he is mainly a close
combat piece who has a 10 range and only gets to use it with
HSS…but then he only has a 2 damage. Against all the damage
reduction in the set, he sucks for sealed. Actually, he
could be good if used right and planned out right, but he is
not really a force. I say, go with the LE.

Hello everyone! Today I’ll be checking out
Veteran Nova, just for you. This clix, from Marvel’s
Supernova, costs 87 points. He has no archenemy, is a flyer,
has no TA, 10 range 1 target and 8 clicks of health:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 10, 10, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. First 3 clicks have
Charge, next 3 clicks have HSS and the last 2 have
Phasing/Teleport.
Attack: 9, 10, 10, 9, 9, 8, 8, 7. First 5 clicks have Super
Strength.
Defense: 17, 18, 17, 16, 15, 15, 14, 13. 1st to 4th click
have Toughness, 5th till 7th he has Energy
Shield/Deflection. Last one is empty.
Damage: 2, 2, 3, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1. 1st and 2nd clicks have CCE,
and that’s its.
Analysis:
His Speed is messed up. Ending high values with Phasing
rules and goes great with his heal-friendly defense.
However, HSS should be front loaded and backed up by Charge,
not the other way around. This hurts him a lot
His Attack values are ok, but don’t like my guys not
starting with the best… Super Strength with Charge and HSS
is sweet.
His Defense is not too bad, his first half has nice values
with Toughness, which while not amazing, it’s ok. Second
half allows him to be healed rather easily, but remains hard
to hit from range. Ok.
His Damage is not what I’d like… it’s kind of low…
Conclusion: I look at his dial and feel like I’m looking
those puzzle games where you have to arrange the pieces to
form the figure… If everything were where it belongs, he’d
be much to broken. Unfortunately, the way he is, he’s almost
the complete opposite of broken :S I’d say this: don’t play
him, but if you see him on your opponent’s team, don’t
underestimate him.
