This figure singlehandedly has me interested in the
2099 set. Why? Because this Hulk is a giant, and
I've always liked giants in Heroclix. Yeah, they're
big targets that everyone on the board can take
shots at, and rarely get to deal their real damage
potential.
But Hulk is different, thanks to the tremendous 19
defense he starts with. That alone makes him one of
the best giants in the game. Leap/Climb gets him
where he needs to go -- namely, tying up a crowd of
enemy figures. A steady AV, high Damage, Impervious
and Flurry means he can deal a lot of hurt to that
crowd for a good while. His only weakness is no L/C
at the end so he can run off to Regen. Speaking of
which...
Feats:
AUTOMATIC REGENERATION is a near-must; his defense
tanks and he could get back up to some truly
damaging slots in his dial. Or use FORTITUDE to keep
him from being easily Outwitted and shot to bits,
but his high starting defense and relatively low
cost make this card a luxury, not a necessity.
Speaking of that high defense, this figure begs for
a SIDEKICK. DAMAGE SHIELD is viable for much of his
dial. And hey!
Finally a Hulk that can use SHAKE OFF.
Comic accurate?
I never read any 2099 title but the Spidey one. But
this is a nice dial for ANY Hulk.
In sum:
Rarely has so much damage potential been seen for
such an economical price. Arguably the best giant in
Heroclix; maybe the best non-flying brick as well.
Rating: 4/5. Hulk is (almost) the strongest one
there is!!!

So, it seems that now we’re taking a break
from Supernova to take a look at the figures you’ll have if
you can get the newest Collector’s Set, 2099. We start off
with The Hulk 2099. He’s a Unique, although you know that in
these cases it just matter towards the fact that if you’ll
be able to use more of
1 of these in your team or not (in this case, you won’t).
Obviously a non-flyer, has no archenemy, has no TA, no
range, 10 clicks of health. For its 123 points, you get that
and also those stats:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 8, 7, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 5, 4. 1st, 2nd and 3rd clicks
have Leap/Climb, 4th, 5th and 6th have Flurry.
Attack: 10, 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 7. Super Strength
from the 1st till the 8th click, then the last 2 have Quake.
Defense: 19, 18, 17, 16, 16, 16, 15, 15, 14, 13. 1st and 2nd
clicks have Invulnerability, 3rd and 4th have Impervious,
5th has Invulnerability again, the following 3 have
Toughness and the last 2 have Regeneration.
Damage: 4, 5, 4, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3. 3rd, 4th and 5th
clicks have Battle Fury, the 6th has CCE.
Analysis:
His Speed sucks. Mid dial Flurry is certainly nice, but he
has low values, and Leap/Climb isn’t much for a 123 points
brick to have at the beginning.
Should he had it at the end, and some Charge front loaded,
he’d be great.
The way it is… kina sucks :P
His Attack is nice. Starts with a decent 10 and goes drops
veeeery slowly.
That’s good. His powers don’t do much for him.
His Defense is sweet! Although it goes downhill rather fast,
it starts REALLY high! For the first half of his dial he’s
not easy to hit, and on his 2nd half is not too bad,
specially considering that opponents’ attack shouldn’t be
too high. Besides that, he has a lot of nice damage
reduction that will make that already loooong dial even
longer!
His Damage is pretty high, for his first 6 clicks he
delivers a lot of pain!
(first the 5 and 2 4’s, then the 3’s but with Flurry and
that click of CCE).
Even after that, he won’t go below 3. Great.
Conclusion: A brick that can get into a fight against 2
decent clicks at the same time and probably defeat both. It
takes some work to take him out, and he delivers some
serious damage. The thing is, he has no mobility AT ALL.
You’ll definitely need a TKer committed to move him around
the board. A couple of feats would probably be of great
help, but I’ll leave that last detail to the others
Rating: 3.5/5. I’m not sure I can give a higher rating to a
brick
Defense: WOW…19?....Ares light basically, regen is a
nice little option too
Damage: Always dangerous, I like
The Good: Good….consistent attack values
Really high defense
High damage
Long dial and lots of
damage reducers keep him around
The Bad: No move and shoot
No L/C at end to run
away
Feats: The standards apply…ICWO and Protected….you
will also wanna push him, so Shellhead is a good idea.
Autoregen can also do some good on those last 2 clicks if
you want.
Overall: What a monster, from sculpt to numbers, I
like him. He is probably the only piece from this
collector’s set that I do like. He has the attack values to
stay dangerous for a while, and the defense is so high it
will take a while before he is hit. If he is, he will most
likely land on Impervious, where he will be once again a
pain. You can push him all you want, because he really does
not ever get bad. He has a long dial, and those damage
reducers will keep him around to the bitter end,
Regeneration can give him a second wind also. Overall a
good, solid click, and one of the better versions of Hulk.
He heeds a tk’er though, and maybe a lockjaw to tie up
opponents so you can actually get to them. That is
basically the only reason he is not a 4 star character, he
can’t move very well on his own.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 3.5 / 5
Sealed/Draft: N/A / 5
Overall: 3.5 / 5
“Heroclix….they’re cool,
addictive, and available….the things practically sell
themselves.”
