Speed:  Stealth, L/C, Charge, and flurry…I like

Attack:  High, Consistent numbers with some BCF thrown in on those 2 damage clicks…I like

Defense:  Pretty high but decent to heal at end, Powers I like too

Damage:  CCE, one of EW, and then Battle Fury….too bad for the BF

The Good:  Stealth and range

      Consistent, AW Wolverine like attack

      9 life

      High Defense

      Always dangerous

      Good secondary attacker

The Bad:   Battle Fury

The EW teases you because you can’t use it with BCF and you only get it once

Feats:   Nanobots works good, ICWO can always help, and protected if you want to get him to those higher defense clicks faster

Overall:    I like him.  He has high attack values; lower than his FF version, but higher than and as consistent as his AW version.  He is more dangerous over the long haul than his Sinister version, but doesn’t have regeneration, I think he is the first wolverine not to.  He also has some of the highest defense we have ever seen on a wolverine.  I like stealth and CCE, because he can sit in stealth and shoot, and enemies will question basing him because of the 4 damage they would take.  I do like him, and the only real hindrance I see is the late battle fury.  If he gets hit there and is tied up, he will pretty much be a goner.  His speed even goes up at the end as the def gets a little low, making it easier to run away with the willpower.  I can see a lot of potential with this piece, and the only real drawback is that he does not have the X-Men team.  I think he is a good choice for both friendly and competitive games.  I cannot wait to start using him.

Constructed/Unrestricted: 4 / 5

Sealed/Draft: N/A / 5

Overall: 4 / 5

Dial

Remember the Hound we reviewed last time? That was a dial that was accurate but unplayable. The Colonel here is sort of the opposite. Coming from the same dark future of outlawed mutants as the enslaved Rachel, Logan is a leader of the underground resistance. Therefore, he starts with Stealth and no Blades -- so as to not alert the Sentinels that "the Wolverine is back in town. With a range of 6, Super Senses and Close Combat Expert, you can get a lot of mileage out of those first two clicks. Mid-dial, he gets an excellent DV boost and the claws come out.
End-dial(because this Wolvie is on a do-or-die suicide
mission) he's all about Battle Fury, Willpower and Flurry with an ever-increasing AV. No Regen, though -- suicide mission, remember?

Feats:
DAMAGE SHIELD is viable on both ends of his dial and might help make hitting him dangerous for the opponent. ARMOR PIERCING helps his low damage get through on the Stealth clicks. IN CONTACT WITH ORACLE, while fine on all figures, makes this one go from good to GREAT. Finally, PROTECTED may help him survive a solid hit on his Willpower clicks, giving him a chance to deal a lethal counterblow.

Themes/Comic accuracy:
Can a Wolverine without Regen be comic-accurate? Yes, it's true, boys and girls -- there was a time when Wolverine couldn't survive being incinerated into a metal skeleton, and this figure perfectly captures an aged but still-at-the-top-of-his-game Logan.

In sum:
This is a different sort of dial for a different sort of Wolverine. Some may mourn the loss of Regen or the ability to fly him to a healer. But those chickens shouldn't be playing this Wolvie. This is a fighting man's Wolvie.

Rating: 4.5/5
