Is it just me or is this guy really
freaking good? Running shot nova blast for 4 damage,
at less than half the cost of Nimrod. Granted, his
attack, range, and movement are less, but what do
you expect? Plus, he has avengers TA, aka the super
wildcard TA. But wait, theres more. What happens
when you nova blast? Click him twice, you get
running shot psy blast, and probability control. He
also gets ESD to shoot his defense up to 18.
Anything else? He stays dangerous to the very end,
with the potential to do 6 damage on his last click.
He even has those really cool clear plastic hands.
The only possible problem is, while he is quite
capable as a primary attacker in larger point games,
his use is maximized as a secondary attacker. But,
while he is a secondary attacker, youd probably want
to send him out first. I am currently working on
putting together a team with him and Nimrod
together. Jack of Hearts can nova blast first, and
then back up NImrod with his probability control. I
really like this click, and not just because it came
out of the same booster as my zombie hulk.
300 or below: 3.512/5 Quite capable, but missing the
nova blast would hurt.
400 or above: 4.315/5 In fact, the higher the
better.

Unique Jack Of Hearts

Team: Avengers
Range: 8 x 1
Jack of Hearts is kind of a jack-of-all-trades in
the range department. Pulse Wave, Psychic Blast,
Energy Explosion, RCE, Running Shot: you name it, he
does it somewhere on his 8 clicks. Pretty decent
damage, too.
But what puts Jack over the top a bit is his
early-dial Probability Control, giving him some
utility beyond being a simple Nova bomb.
Feats:
...because most are going to consider NOVA BLAST for
him thanks to an OK AV, Running Shot and high damage
on his first click. THUNDERBOLTS is great on any
Avenger (especially one who can use Suicide Squad to
heal up after a Nova Blast). But I wouldn't add more
than 15-20 points of feats on a secondary attacker
like Jack, especially since so many only help him in
a very few slots on his dial.
Themes/Comic accuracy:
An Avenger with a penchant for exploding once in a
while, he's fine for Avengers themes. He was one of
the final "mighty" Avengers.
In sum:
Almost a prototypical backup attacker, or
first-striker, Jack of Hearts is just cheap enough
to Nova Blast foes with abandon in 400 points and
higher, but he needs a solid partner in smaller
games.
