Hey guys! how have you been? First
than anything, I wanna welcome our new
buddy here! Welcome aboard! Next, let me tell you,
we’ll have a busy week:
we finish (finally!) Danger Room, and do 3 R/E/V
from Sinister as well! Ok
then, let’s go: Jean Grey is our clix today. She’s a
X-Men Team member (of
course), has a 6 range, 1 target, costs 50 points,
has 6 clicks of health
and:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 8, 7, 7, 7, 6. Mind Control on her 2nd and
3rd clicks, and that’s
it
Attack: 9, 9, 10, 9, 8, 7. 1st and 2nd clicks are
Telekinesis, next 2 are
Incapacitate and last 2 are Psychic Blast.
Defense: 16, 16, 16, 15, 15, 14. No powers.
Damage: 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1. No powers.
Analysis: This is an easy one: Speed has ok values,
but the only power
there is Mind Control and at a 6 range and with no
multiple targets… it
pretty much sucks. Her Attack values could be better
arranged, but that’s
not too big of a deal I guess… she starts with TK,
as she should.
Incapacitate follows, but like MC, a 6 range and 1
target means it’s not
good. Psychic Blast is cool, but right at the end
and with 1 damage, it
means pretty much nothing. Defense sucks: not easy
to heal, and while her
values are ok… no power at all hurts her a lot.
Damage is low and no powers
there, either.
Conclusion: If you want a one trick pony (TKer) in
unrestricted, go with R
Jean Grey… she’s 19 points cheaper and better. In
restricted… go with
someone else: Jhonny Alpha or Songbird are good
examples of good Tkers…
there are more expensive, but not much and they can
do something after
moving your troops.
Rating:
200 – 1/5 No!
300 – 1.5/5 She can’t do fighting, just TK… go with
someone who can

Danger Room Starter set Jean Grey
boot speed
50 points
Team: X-Men
Range: 6 x 1
After being presumed dead for a few years, Jean Grey
re-emerged sans the Phoenix force and her telepathic
powers to help found the undercover mutant team
X-Factor with her fellow original X-Men. However,
she still bore a rapport with the Phoenix Force,
causing her old powers to gradually re-emerge and
grow in strength.
Powers and analysis:
1st click is TK only. 2nd adds Mind Control, but the
3rd gains Incapacitate. The 4th click loses Mind
Control. The last two clicks switch to Psychic
Blast.
Naturally, you'll want to use any figure named "Jean
Grey" to TK your team out into the fray. But this
Jean is the most battle-ready one around as of her
second click, so don't be afraid to push her there
-- she loses nothing on her stats. Mind Control,
while a bit iffy to use at just 6 range, could be a
useful power in the fight. In fact, with her gaining
decent offensive powers with each click, it might be
a good idea to let her accompany a fellow X-Man and
trade off her clicks to get to the slots you need.
Beware, though -- no defensive powers at all means
she's highly vulnerable to early death.
Why doesn't she fly? Levitation was one of her basic
tricks.
Feats:
EXTENDED RANGE in conjunction with Mind Control.
NANOBOTS if the X-Men TA isn't enough healing for ya.
But more than 10 points in feats isn't a good idea.
Themes:
Original X-Factor is the purest theme, but she fits
in any X-team as the most accurate Jean yet.
In sum:
With the Universe Jean being retired, this will be a
welcome addition to the X-Men for cheap TK -- and,
unlike most other cheap TK figures, she's useful for
a few other things as well.
