Today's review is Purple
Man from Sinister
I don’t know much about him,
except that he is Jessica Jones’s arch enemy. Check whoclix
for more.
He is a Unique, comes in at
100 points, has 7 clicks of life, 8 range 3 targets, and no
team
Speed: 7,7,7,6,6,5,5 Mind control on all but last
click
Attack: 9,8,9,10,9,9,8 Incapacitate clicks 2-5
Defense: 15,15,15,15,14,,14, 13 Super Senses first
three, Mastermind last 4
Damage: 1,1,1,1,0,0,0 Shape Change first and last 3
The Good: Mind Control with 3 targets is fantastic
Nice attack values
Incapacitate with 3
targets is awesome
Shape Change has
gotten even better with the new rules
Super Senses and
Mastermind makes him hard to damage
The Bad: Low def will almost always be hit
I would have preferred
the 10 attack, incap, mastermind, and shape change in front
Low Damage
7 clicks means he won’t
last long when hit
Doesn’t get help from
teams abilities like Prof X or Dr. Psycho
Range is a little short
for this type of piece
Feats: Camouflage works great with shape change,
Fortitude can keep him from getting mastermind outwitted.
ICWO and Protected work great for everyone.
Overall: This guy reminds me a lot of the U Prof X
from FF and Dr Psycho from CD. I would have loved him more
if he had frontloaded incap to go along with the mind
control, so you could mess with an opponent’s strategy while
not taking clicks of damage. I love Mind Control with three
targets, because even though you will take some damage, you
can really mess up someone’s strategy that way. A good way
to play him actually is to tk him out, let him go nuts with
the three targets, take his damage, then send a lockjaw out
to be mastermind fodder. The protected will help keep him
alive and since he will probably be on his 4th
click by that time the 10 attack with triple incap and
mastermind and mind control can really make for an annoying
piece. Like the rest of the triple target MC/Incappers, he
needs a lot of help to be used properly and in low cost
games most of the points will go towards supporting him. I
think he is a good click and he will see some play, though
personally I will still just use Prof X with his high attack
and Ridiculous Range. Then again, if your looking for some
disposable mind control, why not go with the amazing Vet
Karma? I think he is a well thought out piece though and a
very fun addition to the set. I actually prefer him over Dr
Psycho because after taking damage he is still very good,
where after 3 clicks Dr Psycho is useless.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 3 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 2.5 / 5
Overall: 3 / 5
