Dario Hello people. It’s been a really long time, but I’m back. It’s a shame that so much time has passed since the last Clix of the Day, but now I’ll be around to make sure it doesn’t happen again (at least for a while :P). Well, let’s see what you all came for, the clix! Today we have a look at one of Supernova’s, Vision. He costs 137 points, he’s a flyer, doesn’t have an archenemy, has a 10 range 1 target, 9 clicks of health and:

Stats:

Speed: 9, 10, 9, 8, 8, 8, 7, 7, 6. 1st click has nothing, and then he has Earthbound on his 5th, 6th and last clicks, and Phasing on the others.

Attack: 10, 10, 10, 9, 9, 9, 8, 8, 7. Incapacitate on the 3rd and 4th clicks, nothing on the last one, and all the others have Super Strength.

Defense: 17, 17, 16, 15, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12. 1st one has Invulnerability, 2nd one Toughness, then follow 2 clicks with Super Senses, then 2 with Impervious, then 2 with Toughness and the last one has Regeneration.

Damage: 2, 2, 2, 3, 2, 1, 2, 1, 1. First 3 clicks have Perplex, then goes 1 with no powers, then 2 with CCE and the last 3 have Outwit

Analysis: So, let’s see…
His Speed is no good: no Power on the opening click, and then Phasing… and Earthbound! (which is usually worse than no powers) And guess which one of those 2 is on his last click??

His Attack isn’t bad… consistent and well suited for a 137 points figure, but the powers he has there are useless: Incapacitate with 1 target sucks, and Super Strength without HSS or Charge is also pretty much meaningless.

His Defense, I like… Starts high enough and drops steadily, besides he has his powers set nicely: opening Invulnerability is good; those clicks of Super Senses are not bad (I like them better over Toughness), mid-dial Impervious with ok defense values is sweet, and that last click of Regeneration can be great if you land on it. Also, the way his defense is built allows you to heal him back to full health with some decent dice-rolling is nice too.

His Damage is so close to being good…. so close… Opening Perplex is good, but having Outwit there would have been better (not that having it at the end sucks, but it’s not the same). Mid-dial CCE is not cool for a guy with a 10 range. Finally (and this is what pretty much makes him blow) his values are too low.

Conclusion: I wouldn’t play this guy. For a piece of his cost, having a bad Speed dial is not definitive, as you still move him around with TK, but it’s a detriment; he needs to make up for it on the other/s parts. But he
doesn’t: his attack is just ok values with no useful powers, his defense is nice but just that, it’s not SUPER. So, the Damage would be what makes or breaks him, and it breaks him. Perplex and Outwit rule, but not with such low values; also CCE in a guy with a range of 10 and no good Speed, instead of RCE seems like a joke. Even considering Feats and the fact that he’s an Avenger won’t make this guy GOOD.

Rating: 2.25/5. Not unplayable, but not good. There are a lot of clix that can do what he does, and better.
