Ravage was one of those 1990s characters that did
zip for me. Bad name, lame me-too powers, lousy 2099
universe, poor design. But he might be one of the
most playable 2099 pieces. Leap/Climb gets him in a
foe's face while Super Strength & Blades/Claws/Fangs
allow him to deal big damage once there -- and a
starting 18 defense means he probably won't take
damage. Even then he's liable to end up on a great
fighting click, as his AV spikes to 10 mid-dial with
Close Combat Expert.
He can push at will and only get better with Charge
in the latter half to chase someone ELSE. Scary,
scary 8 clicks.
Feats:
POUNCE is OK, though you'd sacrifice that great
opening defense. He qualifies for DAMAGE SHIELD on 6
of his 8 clicks; great for a close-combat fighter.
AUTOMATIC REGENERATION could keep him around to
wreak even more havoc.
Comic accuracy/theme?
Who knows? He's a 2099 character. Seems to match the
Wiki entry. Try him out on an all-feral team.
In sum: How the heck is this guy just 60 points?
Without a single bad click, he's like Kraven the
Spider's big brother.
Rating: 4/5. One of the best figs in his point
range.

Hi there, ya’ all! If I’m
not mistaken, this is the last of the 2099 Collector’s Set
clix! Ravage, it is. Who he is? Well, that’s what wikipedia
is for, right? :P 60 points, so he’s cheap, that’s for sure.
He has no archenemy, no flight, no range, no TA, no clicks
of health… oh, wait a minute! he has 8 clicks of health :P,
and these stats:
Stats:
Speed: 8, 8, 7, 7, 8, 6, 6, 6. First 2 clicks have
Leap/Climb, next 2 clicks have Flurry, then follows 3 clicks
of Charge and the last one is empty.
Attack: 9, 8, 10, 10, 9, 9, 8, 7. 1st click has Super
Strength, 2nd click has B/F/C and that’s all.
Defense: 18, 17, 16, 16, 15, 15, 15, 14. 1st click has
Toughness, 2nd and 3rd clicks have Combat Reflexes, 4th and
5th have Super Senses, 6th click has Toughness and the last
2 Regeneration.
Damage: 2, 2, 3, 2, 2, 3, 2, 1. He has CCE on his 1st, 4th,
5th and last clicks.
Analysis:
His Speed has low values, but that’s to be expected
considering the character (he seems like your regular big,
slow brick) and the points. I like him starting with L/C,
‘cuz… he can Pounce! yay!. Then he falls into Flurry, not
half bad of a follow up to Pounce. Then some Charge… yeah,
why not?
His Attack is nice. I wish it was better arranged, but I
don’t think we can complain… good.
His Defense is very nice! At the end he can be healed either
with his Regeneration or some doc’s Support. And from the
beginning to his mid-dial, he’s fairly hard to hit, with
some cool values and defensive powers.
His Damage is nice if you can get him next to somebody…
good, since that shouldn’t be too hard :)
Conclusion: Not a lot to say: He can very well be your clean
up piece, of
your third string attacker. Put Pounce on him, since he can
take advantage
of that. Put ICWO too, since it goes with almost every click
and can help
him have a better attack if he need to, or deliver even more
damage… or be
harder to hit. He already has good chances of hitting the
average clix and
delivering some pain, as well as keeping himself untouched.
So… if you have
a TKer in you team, give this dude a chance, you may like
him
Attack: Decent values, first click is good pounce
potential
Defense: wow, 18’s for cheap are real nice, he stays
pretty annoying the whole time
Damage: Pretty good, stays pretty high the whole
time for a piece like this
The Good: High Defense
Decent attack values
The Bad: Speed values are king of backwards
Little hard to plan out
how to use him
Feats: ICWO, Pounce, Nanobots, and Automatic
Regeneration are the best for him, Pummel can work too
Overall: Whenever you see a piece with a high
defense like 18 for 60 points you automatically get some
good points in my book. You have two options when using a
piece like this. You can either carry him up to an ememy
with a lockjaw and go for the CCE, or use pounse to get that
5 damage with a heavy object then get the 19 def from
close. He is an all around decent secondary attacker. I
know I am not going to touch this waste of a collector’s
set, but he might be worth snagging on E-bay. Him and Hulk
are probably the best things to come out of this set.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 3 / 5
Sealed/Draft: N/A / 5
Overall: 3 / 5

addictive, and available….the things practically sell
themselves.”

Today's Click
of the Day is Ravage
2099.
Not much to
say about Ravage except he died a while ago and is
in space as we speak. Poor guy.

For reference:
Light Green
= Combat Reflexes
Speed: I
would have liked it the other way around. By the
time he gets Charge it'll be pointless since
he'd probably be
next
to the opponent by then. Flurry is at perfect
time.
Attack: A
dull 9 won't get you anywhere anymore except for
a few lucky rolls. Lots of consistency after
those first two
clicks. But by then, the Super Strength and
Blades are gone.
Defense:
It's great but greatness comes at a cost.
Will those good clicks ever come with an 18 and
Toughness followed
up with 17 on Combat Reflexes? This could be to
your advantage too though. Defense goes sloppy
halfway
down and stays like it until he dies.
Regeneration is great at the end.
Damage:
Close Combat Expert is perfect for a close
combatter, of course. And it's sprawled out over
the dial! You're
opponent will never see it coming when you land
on Flurry. There are some twos but Blades makes
up for it
and you'll be rengerating on the other place he
has it.
Figure Sculpt:
I'll say he looks ready to ravage.
The Breakdown:
Ravage seems cheap and cool for a smooth 60
points, but there's better. The no range or
ability to soar means you have to give him a
good transporter. And if you add those points
then Ravage doesn't seem that inexpensive
anymore. I still like him though and he's worth
giving a shot. Remember with one good
Regeneration and he's back on his best click.
