ANALYSIS:
Abomination is aptly named. With an Attack Value that drops to 8 immediately and a cost of 150 points, he's not very good at all. Charge might help him get into a fight a little and Super Strength aids his high damage, but he's just not likely to hit enemies in his weight class. And even though he's got the fearsome Masters of Evil TA, one doesn't dare use it when his stats are best and his later clicks only get worse in almost every way.

The lone bright spot is his high defense; 18 + Invulnerability is pretty good. But even that is dimmed by his giant status, giving every ranged opponent easy Line of Fire to him. He gets Flurry mid-dial, but again his sagging AV prevents A-bomb here from using it well.

FEATS?
If you want to guard his lone decent starting click, PROTECTED is the key. Otherwise throw caution to the wind and have him use his TA to attack non-stop, boosting his DV with SHELLHEAD.

IN SUM:
"70 points. 70 points for 9 AV for ONE CLICK." I wrote that with disdain last month about E Halo in Origin, and gave her an appropriate score. But at least his Defense might prop him up some.

Today's review is Abomination from Avengers

 

I never really read Hulk comics, but this guy was the boss in Hulk: Ultimate destruction and that game was awesome, so I am hoping for some sweetness out of this guy.

 

He is a rookie, 150 points, 0 range, 8 clicks of life, a giant, and MoE team

Speed:  Low numbered charged is nothing special but it could be worse, flurry is never bad, and really helps with those low attack values, plasticity can be useful

Attack:   uh…..where are the double digits?  The Charge+Super Strength combo always works, and flurry like I said is a big help.  I never use quake…

Defense:  18’s are popping up more and more lately but are still a good thing.  Full dial damage reduction keeps him around a little longer though the values drop fast


Damage:  a single 4, with some 3’s and a little CCE…yeah…nope don’t like

 
The Good:  MoE team is coolt o copy

      If you get lucky that first click your doing at least 6 damage

     

The Bad:  Look at his dial and you will see why he sucks

                Only 1 9 attack, defense averages at a 15/16

                Daamage is 2 for half the dial

                Being a giant isn’t bad, but hes a huge target


Feats:  Just no, but if you must prove something then shellhead and nanobots work best


Overall:  So much for sweetness.  This guy blows plain and simple.  For the same points, Vet Namor is about a billion times better…even being retired I would use him in constructed over this guy.  His attack is just ridiculously low…I don’t see how he can possibly be worth the 150 points when they were counting point cost up.  It is just a shame.  Don’t play him, plain and simple.

Speed -- Is Abomination a giant? Or does he just move slow on his own? Charge is good with Flurry following up. I don't see much point in Plasticity.

Attack -- And this guy is the enemy in Hulk 2.. ONE pathetic 9. For 150 points.

Defense -- No Impervious. Values emerge high but sink to 15's and 14's quicker than your opponent will defeat him (but it's a close race). HEY! Toughness! That will make his death just a tad slower.

Damage -- So is Abomination supposed to be a brick? Maybe in a cinder block world. Seriously, he is the broken piece of wood in a fence that kids sneak through.

Sculpt -- It's sad when a figure's best attribute is the sculpt.

~ Uh.. none. Just don't.

~ To everyone who reads this, I'll let you know I had fun writing this review. Maybe because there's been quite a lot of awesome clicks reviewed in the past two months. Don't we all need to vent sometimes? I'm still trying to figure out how Abomination adds up to 150 though. FOUR KO clicks. Almost every single slot has horrible numbers. He truly is the "abomination" of this game. I just wish I could use the feat card, Submerged, for Abomination because he will forever be drowning at the bottom of the heroclix box.

Abomination receives a 0.5/5 stars.

Next Review first debuted in Special Marvel Edition #15 in 1973. Try and figure out who it is.
