Today's review is Spiderman from Avengers
We have had a Spider-man in every set haven’t we? I think we
have more of Parker now than good ol Wolverine. This is his
costume from the Civil War era. I always hated this
costume, and hate the sculpt even more.
He is a Veteran Super Rare, 111 points, 6 range 2 targets, 8
clicks of life, no AE, and Avenger
White Power:
Attack : clicks 2,3,4
Webbing: Spidey
can use Incapacitate, and if the attack succeeds on a piece
with no action tokens, give it two tokens
Speed: L/C helps him move around, flurry is never bad
Attack: High the entire time, Webbing is a cool
power, SS is wasted
Defense: Damage reduction and pretty good numbers
the whole time
Damage: Outwit and Shape Change I love, numbers aint
bad, not good pounce potential though
The Good: High attack and defense
Damage reduction
Opening Outwit
Webbing is a power I
like
2 targets
The Bad:
No move and shoot
Not a great pounce candidate
6 range is limiting
Damage is not great for points
Super Strength is wasted
Feats: Camouflage, T-bolts, Alpha Flight, and
Nanobots if you are luck enough to land on the 2 damage
clicks.
Overall: Here is something different thrown into the
old spider-man mix. First off, I think webbing is a cool
power, and one of the few that not only enhances a
character, but doesn’t really overprice him either. Also,
the attack values are great and consistent, nothing more
than I can say there. Super strength is a waste, because
you only have 2 clicks on his entire dial to use pounce, and
those are at the end when you don’t want to sacrifice any
clicks of life.
He does has a 6 range with 2 targets, wish is great for webbing…at
least I think it is. Overall, he suffers from a movement
problem. He will be getting sniped on his way to getting
into range of people, and he will probably take a few before
he can even use webbing. He needs a TK’er, or else he is a
sitting duck. I like him…he is’t great, but isn’t bad
either.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 3 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 3.5 / 5
Overall: 3 / 5
“Heroclix….they’re cool, addictive, and available….the things
practically sell themselves.”
