Speed: Beautiful….5 of HSS then 2 of Phasing to run
away….perfect
Attack: about right for a piece like
this…actually…gets a little too low too fast
Defense: Wow…18 with Supersenses means he is going
to be a major pain…stays pretty good whole till he needs to
heal at end
Damage: bare 2’s and 1’s…cant expect much more from
a piece like this
The Good: High movement with HSS
Phasing to run away at
end
High defense and
supersenses can keep him around
X-men team always
helps
The Bad: Low attack and damage
Feats: Swingline, Nanobots, and Armor Piercing are
the musts. ICWO is also needed to help attack, and
Protected helps everyone
Overall: This guy was the first in Marvel with HSS
and the first in a long line of mid range point HSS
characters. This guy is also still one of the best. High
movement and defense make this guy annoying, and even
without range, his movement can get him to hit, run, and be
safe. A TK’er is a must and makes a piece like this even
better. When he gets hurt, he can run to heal thanks to
phasing. There is not much wrong with this guy, except that
if he gets hit once he will be useless because of the low
attack. Lately, the big discussion is always who is
better….U Icons Flash or U Nightcrawler. The answer….there
is no clear winner…it is all personal preference. I don’t
have Nightcrawler, and I like naturally high defenses…so I
go with Flash. Nightcrawler is amazing too, less points and
supersenses for basically the same package.
Constructed/Unrestricted: 3.5 / 5
Sealed/Draft: 2.5 / 5 (needs feats and a tk’er)
Overall: 3.5 / 5

Today's Click
of the Day is
Nightcrawler
Unique from Clobberin' Time
Nightcrawler was
another classic figure of the old HeroClix era.
Nearly every team used him and he seemed
unstoppable. Since Nightcrawler is a Unique, his
collectability only brought in more desire to get
one, and he became the first clix to reach above
$100.00 on eBay. But like Firelord, is he still
good? Let's see if he lives up to four years ago.
He is 83

Speed --
Wow 14 with Hypersonic Speed! The guy can hit and
run for five full clicks and never seems to lose
speed. Ending Phasing means no need to break away.
Attack --
When you look at it for the second time, you gain
second thoughts. In a flash, Nighty is down to a
pathetic 7 attack. Who cares if he has HSS for so
long if he won't be able to attack anyway.
Defense
-- I thought his stats were amazing for a Clobberin'
Time printed figure. 18 is a hard to hit defense and
Super Senses only lessens the chance. The near-death
numbers would be appreciated if they were lower.
Damage --
2... isn't that great. And soon enough a handful of
pitiful 1's show up on the dial. No powers either.
Sculpt
-- He looks ready to kill, not ready to teleport.
Romanco's
Breakdown
~ Super high speed
~ Numbers crumble quickly
~ Definite candidate
for Armor Piercing
Nightcrawler
is obviously past his prime. Maybe feats can make
him good again? In Contact his attack and Nanobots
whenever you can. Like I mentioned, use Armor
Piercing to make sure you can hit anybody. In
the past he would get stuck fighting Impervious
bricks which can only lead to lucky hits.
Nightcrawler remains playable in my eyes but if you
want a good HSS attacker for tournaments, use Icons
Flash; he's cheaper after feats.

Dario
U Nightcrawler, from Clobberin Time. Does
this guy need to be presented? not more than our friends
Firelord does, I’d say :) You all now this, but I’ll go on
about it anyway: Unique, 83 points, no flight, no archenemy,
7 clicks of health:
Stats:
Speed: 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8. First 5 clicks have HSS,
last 2 have Phasing/Teleport.
Attack: 10, 9, 8, 7, 7, 6, 6. No powers
Defense: 18, 17, 17, 16, 15, 15, 14. First 5 clicks have
Super Senses, last
2 are empty.
Damage: 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1, 1. No powers.
Analysis:
His Speed is good… no range, true… but hey! Those values
with HSS are amazing. HE even has decent ending values and
Phasing/Teleport to run to safety at the end of his dial.
Sweet.
His Attack is so-so. It’s actually only good for the
points for his first 2 clicks. He has no powers. So pretty
standard for a speedster in this game.
His Defense is nice! Decent damage reduction abilities
coupled with fine defense values.
His Damage is good old standard: no powers, 2’s and then
1’s.
Conclusion: Very nice indeed. Look at U The Flash. He’s
pretty nice, balanced. Well, this guy is the same… true, he
has 18 instead of 19 defense… but he has Super Senses and a
TA, AND he’s 16 points cheaper! He’s now even better than he
was when he came out thanks you Feats. Put Protected on him
and you get to dodge a bullet. Yes, that will probably mean
a push, but… Nanobots. That’s a Feat that should go on him,
no matter what anyway, so… there you go. ICWO is also great,
of course. Make a 300 points team around him and you’ll have
a nice chance of winning against most teams. Put him with
all those Feats on him in a 500 points team and you get a
very good 3rd string attacker/clean up piece/support
destroyer.
Rating: 4/5. I still don’t get why they gave this guy
(and his other
versions) HSS, when all he should sport is Teleport.
